Overvoll Farm

Hege-Kristin's place Overvoll is simply delightful. In fact, it gives the famous Union Hotel, Oye just down the road, a run for it's money! Overvoll is the kind of place that makes you want to stay longer than you ever planned to. Upon arrival you're given a warm personal welcome and from the very start you feel that you've entered a very special place. The rooms are cosy, warm and well-appointed. The beds are super comfortable and the shared shower room clean, with good water pressure and super up to date. If you have kids they will have fun saying hello to the goats. And if you stay for dinner, and you should, you know it's going to be home-cooked with care. The house is wonderful but it is really Hege-Kristin that makes Overvoll really special. I really enjoyed my all-too-brief stay and I'm pretty sure you will too.

Hege Kristin welcomed us very warmly and made us the most wonderful meal. She deserves a Michelin star for her organic salads, largely made with home-grown ingredients, and wonderful breakfast.

It feels less like a hotel or an Airbnb but more like a warm, cozy home. The room was exceptionally clean, providing a deep sense of safety and pure relaxation. Plus, the view from the window was absolutely breathtaking! The breakfast was incredibly hearty. Everything was so fresh and delicious, especially their homemade sauce and the fresh peppermint harvested straight from their garden. Since I didn't have a car, they kindly dropped me off at the trailhead and the ferry terminal, which was a massive help. It was deeply impressive to learn about the host’s practice of permaculture, and their adorable goats were a wonderful bonus. Highly recommend this magical place to everyone!

Beautiful heritage farmhouse on a working farm property. Hege Kristin was warm, welcoming and provided delicious home cooked meals. She also had some very good recommendations for hikes in the area. We especially enjoyed getting a farm tour and discussing permaculture concepts, trying foraged foods and feeding the goats!
