Exceptional

Everything was clean, all facilities and rooms were exactly as in the description. Everything to possibly think off you might need was present at the house. Special note to the fridge full of snacks which was prepared when we arrived. Also the host was very responsive and friendly, and the property is located super close to the city center. 10/10 experience.

Awesome accommodation for groups <3

Being so close to the city center was great, the house was very clean and exceptionally well equipped. The host was quick to answer, very considerate in the timing of information and the provided goodies. Also it was great to have four keys and the key boxes outside which reduced organizational effort within our group.

The rainy weather ^^' but that's definitely not the fault of Haus Schönwald.

Great place to stay, fantastic host, amazing value for money

Great location within walking distance of the city centre. There is a common kitchen, living room and garden you can make use of and the rooms are very tidy and well equipped The host is extremely friendly, we arrived by car and were allowed to use his parking spot under the building, he provided a thorough explanation about the room and what to do in town in very good English , although he stated it wasn't that good :-), all in all the best value for money I’ve had in a very long time. I could really recommend it to everyone looking for a place to stay in Freiburg.

So nice for staying

This place is absolutely wonderful! The owner is incredibly friendly and attentive. The location is perfect, close to downtown and in a vibrant neighborhood. Though our room had a shared bathroom, it was spotlessly clean and not an issue at all. Without a doubt, I'll be returning to this place for my next visit.

Nice atmosphere in the house and friendly host. The bathrooms are shared but there is 1 for 2 rooms which was totally sufficient. Nice little garden.

Loved it so much that I didn’t want to leave!

First, the location was great! it was really close to the main train station so it was easy to walk or catch a tram to everywhere that we wanted to go. Next, it was very comfortable and cute! The beds were comfortable, the room was spacious, the facilities all worked great, everything was clean and organized, and the garden was absolutely the best place to relax. Lastly, the owner, Peter, was absolutely wonderful! He showed us how everything worked, helped us get settled in, was super kind and understanding, and was super fun to chat with. He also provided free snacks and drinks in the dining area, and was quick to provide help with whatever we needed.

There’s not one thing I can think off that I truly didn’t like about the place! But I will say that the stairs inside are a little steep, so one has to be careful while using them. My grandmother who I’m traveling with did fall on the stairs at one point, so just take care on the stairs.

The location was perfect and all the facilities and amenities were great. Peter was very friendly over messages and the check in was straightforward. There was a drinks and snacks fridge which exceeded all expectations and the coffee was top quality too.

The only very small thing was that the stairs creak very loudly which meant I was woken up by fellow guests and also meant I was loud when I got up in the morning. However, it adds to the authenticity and character of the place and was fine in context.

Great house in the city center

The host is really nice and explains everything in details. The location was really close to the city center but at the same time quite. The shared facilities were clean and well taken care of. The bedroom had everything - even hairdryer. The fridge was full of drinks and snacks which is definitely thoughtful. Definitely a good bargain!

Parking nearby was hard And we had to park far away. We were not lucky with the neighbors who had a shower in the shared bathroom right next to the room at 2AM. Probably one or two healthy snacks in the fridge would be nice :)

I enjoyed staying at Haus Schönwald, the area is full of students and lively bars, the hosts were very friendly and the rooms were spacious and clean. I would both recommend it to a friend and stay at the same place again myself if I ever travel to Freiburg again.

Peter, our host initiated good communication before we arrived and was on hand at our nominated arrival time. He provided clear and concise information, not only in regard to the property but to the local area and the town itself. Peter was on call to take any questions over the phone and due to the forecast inclement weather, he arranged a taxi to pick us up for our departure. A great host!

The host was exceptionally easy to communicate with and available for help. There were amazing refreshments available to us that we did not expect. The kitchen had a very nice coffee maker and high end coffee. I enjoyed my morning coffee in the back yard, very peaceful and relaxing. We were offered extra towels and advice on where to go and what to do.

Quiet, cosy and practical

The house is situated in an adorable backyard, so it is both cute and very quiet. It is within a walking distance of the heart of the city. Everything is super clean and the host is friendly and well organized, with a system of checking in that is both secure and flexible. The room is very big and really comfortable. Everything is provided for you to enjoy your stay.
