Villa Losanna

Our family stay at Villa Losanna was absolutely fantastic and very relaxing, which was much needed. Patrizia (our host) has met us at the property and gave a lot of recommendations for nearby shops and restaurants. She was also extremely accommodating and helpful during our departure when we need to pivot as our pre-booked driver cancelled on us last minute. The villa itself is extremely comfortable as it offers multiple lounge areas and the outdoor kitchen is extremely convenient, especially during good weather and when you are spending most of your time outside anyway. The host was also kind enough to extend the opening of the outdoor pool past the official date so we were able to enjoy it during our entire stay - and we sure did :) I highly recommend this place for families / groups who are looking for an escape from a busier city and are planning to just take it easy for the time they are spending there. The beach was also just a short walk away (I was even surprised how fast the walk was) so we took advantage of that as well. Overall, it was a memorable stay for our entire family as we dont get to see each other so much.

No real cons just something to keep in mind for people who might be considering this place - as other reviews state, the villa is further away from most places (shops, restaurants etc.) so if you dont like / are not used to walking, having a car is a must as most taxi's wouldnt come straight to the area. Not an issue just us as we took note of this from other reviews. The only slightly awkward bit is that the fridge that was on was inside the villa but the cooking appliances (stove, kettle etc.) were in the outside kitchen - so you do a bit of back-and-forth every time you cook something :) Not a massive issue though :)

The pool, garden, sunbathing area and the villa were lovely. It mostly exceeded our expectations. Both bedrooms were spacious, beds very comfortable & lots of storage. The upstairs bedroom had a very large balcony though it was fully covered so we didn't use it. There's an outside kitchen in a corner of the building, open to the elements on 2 sides & a shower area ; toilet there too. The owner kindly provided us with contact info for a driver when we asked about getting to Palermo as we didn't fancy driving ourselves. This worked brilliantly, he picked us up too. Theres at least 2 supermarkets within a 5min drive. The villa is a wing of a bigger house where the owner resides but the villa & pool are fully private. We would highly recommend

We had a lovely stay & would recommend but if i was being pedantic then: The outdoor kitchen is a little dated & you had to choose whether to use the fridge there or the one inside the kitchen? The AC wasn't working in the downstairs bedroom though it didn't matter as we stayed at the end of the season so not too hot. We struggled to find the property initially as hidden in a private estate. You could walk the 20mins to the beach but definitely need a car.

Location was secure and upmarket. Supermarket very close. Easy parking outside garden entrance. Nice size pool but deep at one end so children beware. Outside kitchen nice to use, but could use a ceiling fan. It has Italian charm.

It's one half of a villa that is getting a bit tired and needs some money spent on it. The outside drains by the washing machine were very smelly. The appliances all function but are old.

Nice garden and modern design

Description of the property did not match the reality. Location was further from the beach and the cafes than advertised. The closest market was not located in a walking distance, so we had to order taxis to move around. Air conditioner in the living room did not work at all and the air conditioner on the second floor was leaking from time to time. Towels were shabby, old and unpleasantly smelly. Shower on the second floor was leaking. The most frustrating part was the washing machine. We filled the machine upon our arrival and realized that it did not work. The host checked the machine and said she will take care. The next morning she came presumably with het husband to try to unsuccessfully fix it. Finally, a day later our host brought a professional to fix the machine who mentioned it was an electrical issue. Until that, our clothes remained stuck for two days. During our stay, the host never mentioned anything about charging us for fixing the machine, however, after leaving the villa we received a notification for damage compensation for the washing machine. So, basically, the host used us to repair the machine which was out order before us from our pocket.
