Вокруг лес, видели обезьяну (правда, одну и издалека), в 10 метрах от дома в лесу дрались вараны, встречали их еще пару раз на дороге, куча бурундуков и разных птиц. До пляжа идти минут 8. И там пройти минут пять в сторону, так как уж слишком сильные волны. Нам досталась на троих вся "старая" вилла с тремя спальнями и кухней. Если жить с незнакомыми людьми, было бы не очень комфортно конечно, но возможно сильно дешевле. Завтрак на другой территории, брали, не пожалели. Всё очень культурно и вкусно. Сотрудники отличные. Много хороших ресторанов в 10 минутах ходьбы по дороге, в том числе у ж/д путей.

Первый раз видели окна только со ставнями, без стекол. В плане защиты от насекомых довольно странно. И к тому же не получится включить кондиционеры и открыть ставни одновременно. Так что сидим с закрытыми ставнями, или только с вентиляторами. В двух из трёх ванных комнат толпы мелких муравьишек, ходят по дорожкам по стенам, в раковинах у них поилка. К ним мы как-то привыкли, вроде в спальню не лезли. И если кто боится сотовых вышек, то тут она прямо рядом (см. карту). Хотя она огромная, но как-то примелькалась и в глаза не лезла особо, нам было все равно. Шикарный вид на бассейн и лес она не портит, так как с другой стороны. Зато связь отличная. Ну и единственный реальный (для меня) недостаток - расшатанные вентиляторы в спальнях, громко, сложно спать. Приходится включать кондиционер. А в спальне слева от входа у кондиционера не регулируются шторки, дуют только строго прямо в кровать. Почините, пожалуйста!

The pool is a 200m walk from the accomodation and the bathroom was a bit dirty- needs a new shower curtain Probably a bit expensive for what it is but good price for the area.

So peaceful, a short walk (over traintracks) to an almost empty beach, with friendly staff and great breakfast under the trees in the garden. The pool was in a different place but staff took us in tuk tuk. Great ayuvedic massage available too.

It was tricky to find, tucked away down narrow lanes. Also meant it was tricky to find places to eat nearby. We were meant to have a room with pool view but were given a garden one on the 2nd (main) site. This was just as nice although meant we didn't find pool until last morning. We were then given the wrong bill so had to challenge cost which was a sad end to a nice stay.

This place is about ten minute walk out of town down a quiet road. It is a two minute walk to the beach through the garden and over the railway line, the beach is lovely, clean and quite long and a good walking beach. The breakfast is the usual fruit, toast and eggs served in the garden and is nice. The bed was comfortable with a net and a fridge in the room and a fan and air-con.

You should be aware that, like most of the places in Bentota, the railway line is just at the bottom of the garden and when the trains rumble through the whole place shakes. They start quite early in the morning (between 5 and 6am), there seems to be a bit of a break during the day and then there are more during the evening and late night. In fairness though, the whole town is built along the railway line and you will struggle to avoid this if you want to stay here. The biggest thing that let the room down was the shower room which was in desperate need of refurbishment, the water was hot but the room is tiny, the shower head was poor, the plastic shower curtain was torn and the toilet had a polystyrene block wedged between the cystern and the wall, presumably to stop it rattling when the trains go through.
