The location was excellent…at the quieter end of the beach. Facilities were clean and comfortable and very appropriate for the environment!! Saw lots of monkeys everywhere, and the hike up the mountain was awesome…tough climb, but spectacular views from the top. Restaurants were very good, especially the breakfast restaurant !!
The only negative was the bungalow’s shower. Need a refresh I think, but clean, which is the important part!!

We liked its relatively remote location, we actually liked the steep climb to the cabana that we were in (masochistic I know). The staff were lovely and the natural beauty of its surrounds are gorgeous. The room was simple but functional, comfy without being fancy. One thing that was fantastic is that there was a water cooler in the room, and that for us, was pure luxury, having cold water to drink in a hot and humid climate, perfect.
There was nothing not to like as long as being a bit out of town, having to walk up and down the hill and not being directly on the beach is not a problem.

Eco Venao is such a wonderful place to stay. Surrounded by jungle you can hear howler monkeys, see capuchins high in trees, and be visited by hummingbirds.
There is a cool hammock area to relax in during the heat of the day off the beach, and a wonderful shaded beach area with everything you need. The beach is brilliant, and my favourite spotin Venao.
The cafe serves delicious food and coffee and we were also able to cook in the kitchen there.
The riverside cabana was very hot! But once I'd acclimatised it was fine. It was quite a small room, but I could have upgraded - so that's on me really! I came with my kids so if I came again I'd go for a different room but I'd come again in a heartbeat.

The river cabin are nice in the woods next to the river. There is real dense forest with monkeys, spiders, snakes - so much lush nature!
The shared toilets and showers do not match the price for the cabin. The cabin itself is very basic. The shared kitchen is not very clean, the fridge is full of old food and the mouse (apparently named Zoey) roams freely and eats your food at night.
