I feel like home to stay in this hostel and the people there is just like another family, especially if you are traveling alone. The staffs are super helpful, supportive. They have several activities like BBQ night, pasta night, game days, etc. for the residents so that we all can gather, make friends, share culture and fun together. I also love the kitchen. It is huge and well equipped for self cooking. The. bathroom is clean, hot water 24/7. I can even leave my luggages there for days too. 10/10 for a cool affordable but convenient to stay. Highly recommend!

I really enjoyed my stay at La Casa Roja Hostel during my time in Santiago.
The building itself is one of the highlights. It’s a beautifully restored historic mansion with high ceilings, wooden architecture, vintage details, and a warm atmosphere that gives it much more character than a typical hostel. Walking through the hallways and common areas feels like staying in a piece of Santiago’s history.
My room was comfortable, warm, and clean, which made it a great place to relax after exploring the city. The hostel also has several common spaces where it’s easy to unwind or meet other travelers.
The location is another big advantage. It’s in the charming Barrio Brasil area, within walking distance of the metro, restaurants, cafés, and many attractions in central Santiago.
The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout my stay, and the overall atmosphere felt relaxed and social without being overwhelming.
If I had one suggestion, it would be to continue maintaining and updating the historic building. Because it’s an older property, a few areas naturally show their age, but that also adds to its unique charm.
Overall, La Casa Roja offers excellent value for money. If you’re looking for a hostel with character, a convenient location, and a comfortable place to stay while exploring Santiago, I would definitely recommend it.

The property offers excellent value with clean bathrooms, reliable hot water, and well-maintained amenities including a refreshing pool. The staff is friendly and helpful, contributing to a positive experience. While the location is decent, the view leaves something to be desired, but overall, the facilities and services make it a worthwhile choice.
