HôtelF1 Angoulême

Close to the main road it was a good place to stop for the night. There was a lawn and trees around the hotel which was nice for both humans and dog. The hotel was simple, but clean. Nice, firm bed.

The room is very small and our big dog had to back up to turn around. Breakfast was simple and we had to pay for coffee even though we had paid for breakfast. There is no smoking inside but everyone smokes right outside the door where the reception and breakfast is.

This f1 was really good value for money and was exactly as the picture showed. There is ample free parking right outside the property. The room and bed were clean and very comfortable. Outside there were some picnic benches which were great. There were some limited vending-style snack foods and drinks available.

There is no elevator, so up and down the stairs was unwelcome in motorbike gear - even though I'd asked for a ground floor room. Getting access to the hotel and room upon arrival was done using a touch screen system outside. It meant photoing passwords/codes as the printer was marked as broken. It was an OK system, but without any staff initially it was a bit clunky and awkward. There seemed to be a pervading smell of cannabis being smoked.
