Nothing
Not good very expensive for a budget ibis hotel

The room was exactly what we expected having read the reviews. I think people moaning too small is harsh . Yes it is small but we knew that and only for 2 nights it was spot on.. The location was perfect with transport to the other side of Lugano close by and easy to use.. The staff gave you a smile and said hello every time you pass reception going in or out

Lovely lake setting with restaurants nearby in easy walking distance. Lovely pool and pleasant pedestrian roads around the hotel with shops and pharmacy. Underground car park.
Budget price a little high and room a little cramped. Car park costs extra and as always in Europe... although Bookings is all paid for...there is always an additional local tax to pay on the spot.

Great location, close to buses and trains. A few minutes from Lago Lugano, great view of the lake. Plenty of restaurants, hotel offers the Ticino pass, gives access to trains and buses within the city for FREE ask for it. Very much worth it. Wonderful experience. Stayed 8 days
All good.

Proximity to the Lake. Comfy bed
Budget bathroom is really budget with caravan style showers and wash basin next to bes with curtain to pull for privacy. Has separate toilet unit.

Location is good and the access to the private underground parking, although expensive.
I expected a small room and it really was, no problem. But there was also a very small shower, probably suitable for an airplane. The shower water did not have pressure and the water temperature really unstable. The shower cabin is a plastic capsule attached to the room. And so I found out what do they mean by “attached bathroom”. There is no bathroom, the sink is in the room and the WC is in a small claustrophobic compartment. In the end one can get used to it. The problem was actually the smelly bedding, all items stank. Especially the pillows. After the first horrible night I asked reception to do something about it or change my room. They kindly changed the sheets, blanket and pillow covers. The situation improved a little but I could still smell those pillows. Really bad BO. There were no toiletries except for a multipurpose gel/soap for head and body. There is no possibility to control the AC. The window only opens 5 - 10 cm which was absolutely annoying since the whole room smelled like BO from the bed. Only bath towels no hand/face towels. You can imagine why that is unacceptable. Also smelly. I would say that this is unacceptable for a Swiss hotel. I will never stay here again.

The location is probably the best for visiting Lugano for tourism - it is two steps away from the mountain funicular and just as close to the lake station, where you can take the boat towards Gandria, which are the two sights you probably want to check out in any case.
The hotel itself decently serves its purpose of letting one spend a couple of nights. You can get decent business lunch in the nearby Novotel.
The hotel is called "budget" and stands up to its title in pretty much all respects:
- The room is as small as it gets. Resembles a ship cabin somewhat. No kettle, minifridge, or anything like that. Do not plan for spending any time in it.
- The price feels low, but as soon as you add the parking (23) and the breakfast (21 per person) and the city tax (~5 per person) you will probably end up with a total price that is higher than what you expected.
- The breakfast is a typical buffet of scrambled eggs and sandwich components. It is OK as breakfasts go, but is *way* too overpriced for its contents. If you are looking at this hotel because of the word "budget", skip the breakfast, especially if you travel with kids as there is no way your kid will eat 23CHF worth of scrambled eggs, juices or bread with prosciutto slices.

Very good price quality ratio

Hotel room was very clean. Staff friendly and breakfast had many options.
Lack of privacy with shower set up. Room was extremely small. The most unpleasant aspect of our stay was not being able to control room temperature. Room was too warm and humid. Was not able to sleep. Because of the temperature, I would never book again with this chain.

Clean room, good budget setup of the room (don't expect extras when you book budget, but for budget, it is really nice and well done), the location is easy to find and manage (from the local train station or from the next bus stop). Overall good value for money.
Nothing, thank you!

Breakfast and location
I understand it’s budget, but that is beyond “budget”. Try youth house. First time was fine in a double bed room with bathroom and amenities (though still scarce) but second time was a disaster, sorry. A room with a sink next to the bed, shower built into the wall directly by that and a toilet, again without even a proper door. Super small room with a third bunk bed above our heads. Two medium and one small towel thin so you can almost see thru it. Zero further amenities beyond two paper cups and two little soap bars and almost finished toilet roll. Everything but two plastic bins screwed to the walls. If you are desperate to stay, it’s fine, but don’t expect a comfortable one.

Reception area is pretty. Staff is nice and tries to help. The bed is very comfortable. Breakfast is mostly tasty. Coffee is great.
The hallways smelled extremely bad. I know this is a budget hotel, but not even having a towel for the floor when you exit the shower is so cheap. The water in the shower sometimes became very hot within seconds and we scalded ourselves each time we showered. Not enough working plugs in the room. If you want eggs for breakfast, you have to boil them yourself, in a pot that does not work properly. They do not have any personal approach to their guests: we made a mistake while booking ('no cancellation option'), clicking a date 3 months ahead instead of the current month, realized it right away, and tried to sort it out via Booking and via the hotel itself. Not to cancel, but to change the dates. The Ibis hotel did not allow it. We booked for the current month via telephone, giving all of our needed details. Upon arrival, our new booking was missing! Luckily, a room was free so we could stay the night, but had to pay around 30% more since it was last minute. We again tried to cancel the booking waiting for us in vain in 3 months, but it was against their policy.

For a small room, it had all you needed. It was one of the cheapest options in the area, but still felt nice. The location was tucked away and had good proximity to some local attractions.
The bathroom set up in the room was lacking. The toilet door didn’t lock or seal, the shower door opened outward into the room, thus splashing water onto the door, the shower door handle was just a hole, which when running the shower, would splash out. On our last day, the drain in the shower and sink started to smell and there wasn’t proper ventilation due to the bathroom being in the room rather than separated in a way.

Good location , it was an emergencial reservation so it was an easy check in .
I couldn’t choose to stay with just one room (we were 3 adults and 2 babies )the room there was a queen bed which we could put one baby with us , get a crib for other and the other adult stay on the single bed .
We should have the right to choose just one room.
The room was little bit hot and there was no fan available in the reception

Great value for money! The room was tiny, there was no wardrobe, but if you need to spend a night or two - really good option for a small price. Very nice and wide variety of breakfast, children corner, even a pool! Friendly staff.
Nothing for this price
