Perfect location for my needs.

Room was perfect, nice and warm on entry. Staff were very helpful and polite. Food was superb.

Small portions in evening. ( tiny soup portion and had to be sent back to be heated through)

The room was very comfortable able, spotlessly clean, lots of hot water and comfortable bed Breakfast was really excellent attractively served and plentiful

I found the stairs very difficult as I have limited mobility, next time I would need a ground floor bedroom

Great place for a few nights

Room was comfortable and warm. Staff were friendly and had no issues.

Having paid on booking.com I had to move the days back 1 day, I phoned the hotel and they said that would be ok and I wouldn't have to pay more. On arrival I was told I'd need to pay an extra £50 which I did. On my return home I checked my band statement and booking.xom confirmation and realised I'd been overcharged. When I phoned the hotel they refunded the additional charge but it was rather unusual to have that extra charge put on.

A stop over.

The bed was super comfortable, the lady booking us in was pleasant.

The shower room needed work , the 1 bath towel provided for 2 of us was stained so did not have a shower, the girl on breakfast duty was not the most welcoming of people, the breakfast was not good, the sausage was burnt, the hash brown very greasy and the bacon seemed good quality but was extremely salty, also having to pay for a cup of tea on top of the cost of the breakfast was not good value. Other hotels offer a much better breakfast and cheaper.

Location close to travel route. Staff very friendly and efficient. Pleasant bar area

Location was at a busy road junction. Acceleration and deceleration at mini traffic island made worse by ill fitting window. Door to room recently repaired after break in with loose fitting door lock. Damage to bathroom door lock, inside. Missing coat hook on bathroom door. Light over bathroom mirror not working. Hot tap H button broken. Extreme floorboard creaking from adjoining room (beyond the old building excuse). Main window ill fitting, or broken, allowed outside traffic noise to be annoying

A wonderful surprise

Very nice pub, good food and ambiance. The room was big and clean and comfortable. The breakfast was lovely as well! It was a wonderful stay.

Only thing I didn't like was that we couldn't open the window but it really wasn't that bad a trouble.

Sue manageress was lovely staff , shona was great bed was clean however there were sparkly bits on sheets and duvet cover she came immediately and changed for fresh linen nothing was too much trouble, breakfast well cooked and presented , although we enjoy our frequent stays in feel the company could invest on some cosmetic decorating as the pub looks tired but the staff do a great job of maintaining their standards in spite of this. You have a great place here but please spend some money and spruce it up the bar furniture tables etc are old looking and don't match

The room was very comfortable, the staff were extremely helpful and the food service was excellent, especially breakfast. The choice of food was good, and my dairy intolerance was no problem. The staff were cheerful and friendly.

Honestly, it could've been cleaner. The carpets were grubby, especially in the bar area, and our bathroom was Ok but not sparkling, with some mould in the corner and the area around the basin not swept.

Disappointing

Generally disappointed with the whole experience. Room was ok but one piece of furniture broken. Washing area VERY tight on size and are not overweight to cause an issue. Evening meal steak pie was soft tough and barely warm though I suspect it had been put in the microwave. The chicken was tough. Breakfast advertised crispy bacon it was anything but. The toilets downstairs at breakfast time had not been cleaned fr9m the night before. So a very disappointing experience. We liked the lady who booked us in and served us breakfast.

Convenient location

I’ve stayed before and the location is ideal as a stopover to our destination in Cornwall. The welcome from the Team was very sincere and friendly. The room itself was clean and comfortable . It looked like it had been renewed recently.

Looking very tired and run down in communal areas . Suspicious smell of “herbal cigarettes “ on the landing. No tv remote control in the room and when we enquired none could be found in the building so the Team switched th TV on to a channel and left us . We couldn’t switch it on in the morning .

Perfect stopover

Great location to stop off; not far from motorway. Nice size room and very clean. Great that we could have a meal and drink without having to drive anywhere. Very friendly staff.
