The room was larger than expected, with a very comfortable bed and all the essentials I needed. Cleanliness was excellent, and I had a great night’s sleep in such a cozy environment.

From the front desk to the cleaning staff, everyone was friendly and attentive. They went out of their way to make our stay comfortable, from helping with excursions to ensuring the kids had everything they needed.

Overall, Rethymno Mare offers everything needed for a memorable vacation. Comfortable rooms, welcoming staff, amazing pools, and delicious food make it a place we would happily return to.

Waterpark is nice for kids and the entertainment in the evenings.
Private pool was nice.
Extremely crowded at breakfast, lunch and dinner, long waiting lines to enter the restaurant. Out of 3 restaurants advertised, only 1 was open. The a la carte was open only on Friday, fully booked almost 1 week in advance. Food was low quality, dirty dishes, staff was insufficient. It looked like a student cantine, not a 5 star hotel. Actually two hotels are merged, Rethymno Mare and Rethymno Royal, with one restaurant.
Drinks at bar were low quality, only open from 5 in the evening.
Wifi works in the room only if the tv is on!
Remote from any city (15 min by taxy, 15 euro), only one taverna across the street where you can eat.
Definitely not worth the money, we paid 600 euro for a room with private pool. Avoid at all costs.
