Stunning wild coastal hotel

Stunning views from the coastal location. Very comfortable and well maintained room with very helpful staff. Free electric car charger available. Very good room service breakfasts.

The restaurants in the hotel are fine but expensive and there are better options in the town, 15 minutes walk away.

Perfection.

Everything about this hotel was absolutely perfect. If I could give it higher that a "10," I gladly would. We biked the entire island, so I saw all the other hotel options. L'Ocean stands out. The location is superb - right on the ocean with breath-taking views from the room (including sunsets!). The staff is exceptional. To a person they were warm, accomodating, professional and yet fun and personable. In messaging prior to arrival, staff members were very helpful, even making dinner reservations at restaurants other than their own. We dined at the in-hotel restaurant, Le Bistrot, one night and it was delicious, and right on the water with another awesome view. Our room was lovely - large and bright with a very comfortable bed and fabulous blackout shutters for sleep. And, can I mention the view again??!! Breakfast on the balcony was delightful and so plentiful - fresh juice and fruit, baguettes and pain au chocolat, jellies and the butter..!! I cannot recommend this hotel enough.

A relaxing stay in an upmarket family run hotel, great location, delicious food.

Travelling with someone with limited mobility & a severe back injury, but not a wheelchair user, is challenging. Apart from a walk-in shower, the other important attribute of a room for us is to have a substantial, comfortable armchair at a "normal" height, and this room did, per the photographs when I booked it. It's always a worry that it won't be the room in the picture. Breakfast in the room, with the table & chairs facing the sea was great, and even though it was a bit too breezy to sit out the room was fine in the sunshine with the doors open. The food was delicious- especially the new season white asparagus- but a little expensive. Great parking, we brought a mobility scooter and the hotel kindly let us stow it inside overnight, instead of having to stow it back in the car. The staff couldn't do enough to help us, especially "le patron"

The staff were a little over stretched when the restaurant was almost at capacity. Unfortunately we arrived just prior to the bistro re-opening so couldn't opt for a lighter, choice on one evening. A few "mean" things in the room, such as charging for water, additional coffee pods etc.

Exceptional

Our room was amazing. Spotlessly clean, fantastic view, a huge and amazingly comfortable bed. The restaurant had an equally stunning view out over the sea and some of the best food we've tasted in a very long time. The staff were all lovely and couldn't do more to make sure we were happy and that everything was perfect. Hotel De L'Ocean feels welcoming and personal while delivering a properly lovely, luxury feel.

The suite was modern with a balcony overlooking the Bay. Fabulous on the night we arrived in warm sunshine. It exceeded expectations. The restaurant was a disappointment. Very slow service and quite ordinary food.

The Restaurant was a shadow of a former self. The main Restaurant is shut - not advertised - since covid and the Bistro was over crowded and had insufficient staff. 2 hours for a mediocre meal.

Exceptional

We recently returned from an extended trip to France during which we stayed at multiple hotels and Grand Hotel de L’Ocean was, by mutual agreement, the best. Every aspect was five star; the room, the view, the restaurant, the service and the warmth of the staff were all perfect. They managed to do everything right and nothing wrong. And the view! Parfait!

Beautiful hotel but rather remote management - there was a rather ghostly feel about the place.

Stunning location, restaurant wonderful, room excellent (would be nice to have basic facilities such as tea bags and some milk - although in fairness it is possible the previous room occupant took the tea bags as our friends were well provided for!). We asked for milk which was promptly provided.

Once again, we were told there was parking but in this case it was a public car park - admittedly, just a few steps opposite the hotel. But if you have a soft top and are concerned about security this is not what you are looking for. Although the main restaurant was superb, breakfast in the bistro was poor - probably better to eat out.

Spacious and well-equipped room with terrace right on the Ocean

The location of the hotel, next to a small beach, is superb. The suite we stayed in was spacious and well fitted out and had a fantastic terrace right on the ocean. The staff were pleasant, helpful, and unobtrusive. And of course the restaurant was outstanding.

Given the price of the rooms, the daily allocation of gratis coffee pods, soft drinks, and water should be a little more generous, to match that often provided by more modest hotels.

Einer unserer Sehnsuchtsorte

Grandiose Lage! Grosser Balkon und sehr geräumiges Zimmer mit direktem Blick aufs Meer. Nachts herrscht absolute Stille. Im stilvollen und wohl geschichtsträchtigen, kleinen wie feinen Hotel herrscht eine wunderbare Ambiance. Frühstück und besonders die Abendessen sind vorzüglich. Das Hotel- wie Restaurantpersonal ist sehr freundlich und kompetent. Nach mehrmaligem Aufenthalt ist das ca 1km entfernte Le Croisic ein Sehnsuchtsort geworden.

Die Heizung konnte nicht optimal eingestellt werden. Leider hat es keinen eigentlichen Aufenthaltsraum, der Hotelgrösse geschuldet.

Traumhotel an einer der schönsten Küsten der Bretagne

Absolut traumhafte Lage direkt am Strand der Cote Sauvage. Meeresrauschen und freier Blick auf den Atlantik. Nichts stört die Ruhe. Die Terrasse unserer Suite hätten wir am liebsten garnicht mehr verlassen. Man kann sich kaum sattsehen. Wir haben Gourmetrestaurant und Bistrot besucht und waren sehr zufrieden. Das Frühstück kann man sich gegen geringen Aufpreis aufs Zimmer bestellen. Wir fanden nach dem reichhaltigen Abendessen vor allem die kleine Express-Variante ganz toll. Auch hier hervorragende Qualität aller Speisen und Getränke. Schöner Sandstrand zum Baden unmittelbar neben dem Haus. Kostenloser Parkplatz gegenüber dem Haupteingang

Petit déjeuner excellent, avec des produits de qualité Personnel au petit soins et à l’écoute et tres aimable. A faire absolument le restaurant gastronomique de l’hotel, excellent et une vue extraordinaire, une mention spécial pour le chef pâtissier 👍

Petit bémol,pas de Places de parking réservé aux clients de l’hôtel, du coup un peu compliqué de stationner sa voiture, si vous le pouvez emmenez vos vélos, l’hotel met a disposition un garage sécurisé pour velos

L emplacement est superbe, nous avons adoré. Literie confortable.

Pas de rideau ni store dans la sdb, lumière du couloir à clignote toute nuit , pour un yaourt supplémentaire au petit déjeuner nous avons été facturé 3 €, les capsules café dans la chambre sont payantes, porte vitrée pour les toilettes : tout cela n est pas très classe pour un 4 étoiles à 300 € la nuitée

belle suite avec grande terrasse mais pas de bonde neuve pour la baignoire bonde en plastique et il manque sur les robinets des lavabos une tirette afin de bien fermer l'eau à revoir

service du restaurant gastro très long ( j'ai été très vite placée à une table mais ensuite attente de 25 minutes pour une boisson et la carte ) surtout pour une personne seule !!!!

La procédure de petit déjeuner , est digne d'une pension de famille. Nous arrivons pour 4 nuits et nous devons cocher sur une liste les ingrédients des petits déjeuners, dire où nous allons les prendre, au bistrot ou en chambre, et à quelle heure. De plus quand nous sommes arrivés au restaurant , les tables vides n'étaient pas débarrassées !!!
