The kitchen is very small, the apartment is quite distant and uphill from the office where you pick up the keys. There is no washing machine (this was not a surprise). We knew that we will arrive when the office will be closed so they offered to leave the keys in a safe and gave us the code. The safe was empty. we had to make several phone calls and waited close to an hour (noon) before an employee came and gave us the keys. When we told her the safe was empty all she had to say was "ok", she did not even consider to say sorry or apologize somehow. When we said "it's not ok" she got angry, did not ask us in the office and handed us an envelope. I checked the envelope and the access passes were not there. When I asked about them she replied angrily "there are no passes". Then she asked if we paid our taxes. We replied we did so she went in again and gave us the passes. House rules require to put all dishes in place, you can't just leave them clean in the washer. You are also required to remove the bedding before you leave.

Overall, the apartment was fine, but clearly hasn’t had much investment. Doors rattle, and the panoramic terrace window is difficult to close even with the lengthy instructions provided. One night I couldn’t close it at all — and a fox got into the room! The main problem came after checkout, when the agency charged me CHF 66 because some food was left in the fridge. Why 66 rather than 5 or 100 remains a mystery 😂. Thankfully, Booking.com supported me and confirmed that no such requirement or charge was stated in the booking conditions. I’m an experienced renter and always leave accommodation tidy, but I’ve never before been expected to do the cleaner’s job myself. Despite paying a final cleaning fee, guests are expected to strip and bag the bed linen, vacuum and wash the floors before leaving.
