Beautifully maintained grounds. The unit includes a kitchen. Delicious food in the restaurant.
The unit had guests upstairs and next to our. It was a little loud. The couch was not a hide a bed, so it was uncomfortable for our grandson.

This is a large acreage of stand alone units spread throughout the beautifully landscaped property. Our room was upstairs in a two unit structure with up and down suites. The room was spacious with a large balcony right on the ocean front. The free kayaks and SUPs were appreciated. The two pools are clean and well kept.
Unfortunately, the san fleas are brutal here and hard to avoid, leaving behind itchy welts.

Went in more of the off season so a lot of the places in town were closed, which was unfortunate but thankful for the food options at the resort

Loved the ocean front room. Appreciated that it was close to pool and restaurant as well.
Staff was very helpful and responsive. Enjoyed being there in off season and almost having the place to ourselves!
You need handrails wherever there are steps, especially in and around the pool.
Also, there was nothing in your website or other publications that indicated that the property is not really handicap accessible. For example, getting from the office and parking lot to the lodging unit, and getting up the steps to the pool. I managed with help from my travel companions, but might have thought twice about booking had I known. Guess there's a good reason for the ADA laws!

The resort was beautiful. Our room was right on the Caribbean Sea. We spent so much time drinking coffee watching the sun rise every morning on our porch. At night we listened to the lapping waves while drinking wine on the porch. We saw manatees as well as dolphins from the porch. The room was clean, beautiful and well appointed. The staff did an amazing job daily of handling the sargassum. It was not even noticeable compared to other areas of the country. This resort is farther north than the hotel zone, but it was perfect location we thought. We walked multiple miles every day along the beach and stopped for eats and drinks along the way.
The menu is fairly limited, and the prices were more in range for American then Belizean (the menus are even in US dollars). That being said, everything we had was good, just not a lot of choices if staying 5-7 nights. We live in Belize and were surprised at the bar prices. But if you are American traveling, the prices are comparable.

Loved the size of the room, bed, pool, and the compactness/proximity of everything at the resort. Even though we booked last minute and our room was at the back of the resort, it's so well designed that we still had an ocean view from our porch.
We ate dinner 3 times at the on-site restaurant, The Rhum Shack, and it was exceptional, especially the pork chop + snapper. Service was also great (shout-out to Michelle who looked after us daily!).
The entire team were friendly and wanting to make your stay as comfortable as possible, from housekeeping being attentive to our water refill needs, to the pool guys moving our umbrellas without being asked when we no longer had shade. Would 100% come back here, especially with proceeds of the stay going towards their chosen charities.

Food was extraordinary! Customer service was friendly, accommodating and helpful.
there is a lot of seaweed washed up on the beach this time of year that I wasn't aware of, and trash. That did deter me from swimming in the ocean, but that's ok, the pool was lovely.

Beautiful resort on the North side of Hopkins a rustic little village on the beach. The one-bedroom villa was spacious and comfortable. Nice patio with a view of the beach. I was able to watch the sunrise every morning from my room. Loved the stuffed fry jacks at the Rhum Shack in the morning and the friendly service there as well. The rum punch was delicious. The resort provided the free use of bicycles for guests to go into town and golf carts were available to rent for a fee. There was a small open-air spa by the pool where I booked a massage and facial. Kobe the concierge was great and arranged several private tours for my family. Overall amazing place.

We are a 3 generation family travelling to Belize for the first time, Hopkins Bay resort was a great home base for the week. We enjoyed having the common living space for our toddler to run around, the separate 2 suites when we needed our space, the kitchen for quick snacks, and the patio for watching sunrise and sunsets. The beach-side pool was a fan-favorite especially with the seaweeds taking over the beach. We ended up eating most of our meals at the Rhum Shack, and every meal was delicious from breakfast to dinner, and the specials were great to break-up the menu. We did venture out with the golf cart to try out local spots and even lunch at another resort, the meals at the Rhum Shack was great value and quality. Favorite alcoholic drink was mojito, and my toddler appreciated and enjoyed fresh mangos from the bar. Every staff we encountered was super friendly and helpful. Appreciated the eco-conscious gestures, such as providing reusable water bottles to use with the jugs of water in the villa, and reusable bamboo straws (we bought a pack for home use).
The resort is not really "walk-able" to the main village or the "hotel zone" with a toddler in-tow, but we were happy with the amenities and the space the resort provided. Do pack bug sprays, the bugs are active when the sea breeze stopped.

This beachfront property was easy to find, exactly as pictured & had many useful amenities - balconies, 2 pools, filtered water jugs in the room, very reasonable on-site restaurant, bicycles, paddle boards & kayaks for guests to use. The staff was also beyond warm & friendly.
The shower was in need of an upgrade

The location and the space we had were excellent.
We booked a room with a futon so that my son could sleep on that. I messaged them ahead of time to see if they could make up the futon and have it ready. It was not. There was no futon. They did fix the problem and brought one over. However, the futon was very uncomfortable for my son to sleep on. Resort needs updates.

This resort is absolutely amazing I would definitely recommend! Our stay was beyond peaceful, the locals are very friendly, the staff made you feel at home, vacationers were down to earth, the drinks were delicious and the food was phenomenal. The beach isn't the bluest but was still wonderful. The staff members were kind, thoughtful, always smiling. Planning our excursions and transportation was easy at the adventure desk. It’s a small resort, everyone remembers you by name. I usually stay at large all inclusive resorts but this hotel set the standard high. My mom and I hope to visit again because this was definitely our most peacefully and stress free vacation.
Transportation back to airport was way too early. We sat at the airport 6 hours prior to departure time.

Resort was nice, as expected. Staff was all very friendly.
The restaurant was ok. Often long waits for drinks and food, which is common in Belize however the waits seemed longer. Beach wasn’t as I expected either.

We had an excellent stay at Hopkins Bay Resort, we can’t wait to return with family and friends. The resort is on one side of Hopkins so away from the busyness but close enough to get into town by bike or golf cart (would suggest renting the cart if you want to go to Jaguar Reef). Food and drinks are excellent and reasonably priced, staff is amazing and so accommodating, and accommodations are exactly as pictured. Even though our villa was not on the beach, we woke up to an amazing view of the ocean from our balcony. We went during off season so very serene, quiet, and peaceful. We basically had the resort to ourselves. Also, we only stayed for a few days, as we split our vacation between Hopkins and Caye Caulker, but we made the most of the few days we were there. I would suggest the Garifuna Cultural Tour, Driftwood for drumming on Tuesdays or Saturdays, catching ghost crabs at night at the resort, and watching the manatees at The Dock Bar (at The Lodge on Jaguar Reef). Thanks to Manuel, Shaq, Velene, Timothy, Chavis, King, and Wilbur for your hospitality and making this an unforgettable vacation!
Our stay at Hopkins Beach Resort was excellent so no cons! Just FYI for those traveling to Belize in late October/early November. We went during rainy season so there were puddles and standing water, which made the roads a little challenging and the grounds a little soggy. Yet, we were prepared and brought rain gear and nonslip, rain resistant flip flops and sneakers so the rain didn’t slow us down at all. Also, make sure to bring your bug repellent!

Great value and the food was excellent.
The patio chairs need refinishing, and there needs to be a bit more light along the walk paths, especially for rear door entries.

The proximity to the beach and ocean was perfect. The pool and pool bar/restaurant were awesome! I loved the rooms and balcony! Offering complimentary bikes to borrow was one of my favorite things to do! I biked to the village twice a day, every day!
I don’t believe they had pool/beach service. No one came out to me the entire week; but I didn’t ask anyone either.

We didn’t know really how is Belize for us nothing to much to do we are more adventurous!😊

Spacious accommodations with comfortable beds. The view from the room was very nice and most of the staff we encountered were very friendly. The Rhum Shack food was pretty good.
Lots of little bugs (no see-ums and ants) in the rooms, in the bathroom, in our bags, in the beds leading to LOTS of bites. There are signs in the room about keeping doors and windows shut, which we did, but these are everywhere. Service was mixed, some days were great and responsive and others we had to repeatedly ask for things like our room water to be replaced. Ocean in this area is murky water due to proximity to two rivers making it less attractive for swimming. Due to the locations of the pool (wind and sand from ocean breeze) and the sea grass on the beach, there are workers around you all day cleaning pool and raking beach endlessly. You will always have a worked within 10 feet at the pool or beach. Grateful for their hard work, but kind of stinks to always have people lingering.

The front of house staff was very helpful and they were amazing. However when I checked in I was not inform of the construction happening on the villa next to me. I checked into a room that had caution tape around it and no one took the time out to explain why the tape was there. Furthermore I got into the room open the front door and there are some group of men working on the roof of the villa next to me. It would’ve been professional to inform guests of this before they check into their room. To be honest the place looks a bit abandon. It needs proper landscaping and it’s maintenance.
I didn’t like that there were people that didn’t sleep the entire night that was staying downstairs from the villa I was in.
