Thaba Tsweni Lodge & Safaris

Excellent central location for waterfalls visits. Clean and quiet, with few well spaced chalets. Helpful at reception. Chalet cleaned daily with fresh towels. Chalet had lots of space in rooms. 8kms from Graskop.

We had a very nice, comfortable stay.

I liked the tranquility of the area, the friendliness of the host. The space in the chalet was sufficient with more than enough cookware

Ist night we got in late and I noticed that the pillow cases and sheets were not clean. When I raised it with the cleaner she advised me that they only change the sheets once. She reluctantly took the sheets and duvet cover off the bed when I persisted that it needed to be changed

1. The room was incredible! The bathroom was frikken amazing!! Absolutely stunning! 2. The gardens are beautifully maintained. 3. Told them in advance of our dietary requirements, and breakfast was delicious.

1. We arrived at 4pm but our room had not been cleaned, despite check-in being at 2pm, so they moved us from unit 1 to unit 9. 2. Unit 9 : the keys had apparently been taken by the previous guest, so we were issued a key from the cleaning crew. Said key did not lock the unit from the inside, but only from the outside, so we had to open the window, lean out & lock ourselves in from the outside. We also did not have a key to the sliding doors to the front of the room. 3. We had no cold water. Tried calling reception at 18h56 - no reply. Walked to reception only to discover that despite their hours being until 9pm, the reception was locked up. Tried calling the after hours number at 19h05 - no reply. No whatsapp number. Send an sms. Still, 48hrs later, unanswered. So we could not shower & had to wait 3 hours for the bath water to cool enough to bath. We departed on a Monday & I had to stop at at Client on the way home, but could not shower in the morning. 4. No fridge in the unit. No safe in the unit. 5. Booking.com reviews refer to the amazing animals - there are no animals, apart from one very lonely Gemsbok and one very sad pig. The electrified enclosures still have signs saying "Danger lion" but there are no lion, or cheetah, or any dangerous animals on site. 6. The website shows beautiful photos of water fountains & a lake. The one (of 2) fountain is dry & the lake is inaccessible & grossly covered with slime & mosquitos. The children's train is not in operation.
