Love the old fashion charm of this old building, and great restaurant

A lovely old building with good bones, and great dining. The proprietor is evidently trying to do it up, and with a little more work it could be an absolute gem. Our room and bathroom were a good size, the bed was comfortable. We ate in the restaurant…a very very good meal

Everything is tired. The bathroom could probably be benefit from a refit

My first terrible experience on booking for 13 years

Clean, good plumbing.

It was terrible service. And 1t time for 13 years with booking.com. We have booked through the platform room for 90 euro. They took money from my card. When we came they asked pay more. In start it was 168 euro, than less. We spent almost 1 hour trying to understand what's a wrong... It was night we paid in cash more 44 euro and got our key. In this case all dignity fades. And never return and do not recommend it.

Thiers and L’Aigle D’Or were our most disappointing stopover - ever!!

Sadly, not a lot and it was as depressing!

There was no one on hand for us to check in. I had to phone and wait for someone to appear. This wax one of the poorest rooms I’ve had from Booking.com, although just comfortable was a really sad space. In the shower room the toilet was wedged between the sink & wall making it a very tight squeeze. We booked breakfast but the following morning no table was set for us, no food was available and no one was around. Eventually the person who had checked us in arrived and said rather rudely that we had not booked breakfast. However he brought coffee and we had unappetising and unsatisfactory breakfast- if you call if that - and we were charged full price. This hotel is not to be recommended!

Great hotel with too much furnitured room

The breakfast and restaurant of the hotel is great and it is located ideally for walks in the town.

The room was big enough, but it was covered with furniture, a too big wardrobe. And the room was also designed too dark, so I had a bit the feeling the room is not clean, although for sure it was.

Looking for a 'French-style' hotel for a night's stay in the centre of France. This fitted the bill and has a very good restaurant - the dinner was excellent.

Bedroom and en suite are old and need refurbishment. No air conditioning in room - uncomfortable in the height of summer despite the fan being on all night..

In the old part medieval town. Lots of old buildings. Free underground parking directly opposite.

Run down. Too near the road as very busy. Keep you awake thru out the night. People drive very fast with hard music on. Lots of bikers. Rooms not sound proof. Beds slanting to one side. Tap loose, showers knob opposite cold is hot and hot is cold. Showers cabinet is abit blocked, water not flowing out properly.

Bien dans l’ensemble malgré la petitesses de la chambre.

La propreté de la chambre, des draps et du matelas : 10/10 Salle de bains : moyenne mais le Directeur nous a dit qu’elle serait refaite prochainement. Restauration : très bonne tant pour le dîner que pour le petit/dejeuner. Par contre : hôtel indiqué 3 étoiles sur internet mais pour moi correspond à 2 étoiles car pas d’ascenseur pour monter à l’étage et l’escalier ancien est difficile à monter. Le Directeur très sympa a monté notre valise.

Je cherche encore la 3eme étoile. Chauffage à 0 en arrivant et chambre froide, hôtel dans son jus, isolation phonique inexistante, on entend tout ce qui se passe dans les chambres mitoyennes. Petit déjeuner décevant: pain sec, jus de fruit qui a dû rester trop longtemps à l'air libre vu le goût. Heureusement il s'agissait d'une nuit étape sans attente forte. Avec une ville relativement morte, l'étape Thiers est globalement très décevante.

Tout. L établissement ne correspond en rien aux photos. Décoration dans son jus depuis 50 ans, sale certains appareils non aux normes, mobilier cassé, salle de bains minuscule inadaptée globalement établissement délabré....3 étoiles 🌟 hypothétiques !!! Sans parler du coin restauration...

Très jolie salle .on pouvait imaginer croiser Grorges Sand dans le salon d'accueil ou la salle à manger et même dans les escaliers menant aux chambres.

Situation géographique

les bornes WIFI ne couvrent pas toutes les ailes. Pour le coût d'un ou deux nuitées, 2 ou 3 bornes (access point) régleraient cela et n'importe quel installateur ou même agent de maintenance pourrait régler cela au bénéfice des clients. Notamment ceux de passage ayant une activité et se retrouvent dans une chambre sans WIFI et qui ne peuvent tenir une session visio dans un salle publique ou sur le palier !

Hotel au top, restaurant mitigé.

Belle bâtisse (de 1832!?), les chambres sont rénovées, propres et les lits très confortables, matelas épais L'hôtel était très silencieux (le taux d'occupation faible), nous aurions très bien dormi s'il n'avait pas fait si chaud...

Pas de climatisation, ce n'est pas un reproche, les chambres ne sont pas climatisées soit. Seulement nous cette nuit là il faisait très chaud. Sans ça, hôtel confortable et silencieux, à 5min à pied du centre ville historique.
