Antico Palazzo Spinola

It is a charming old property with beautiful first floor common areas, furnished in a sympathetic manner and with a charming terrace where the delicious and ample breakfast is served. The first floor bedrooms are also furnished in a traditional style. The en suite bathrooms are unusual in their construction but are modern and function well. Toiletries are provided. It is a family run hotel and the family make one feel very welcome. Gallipoli old town is approx 15 minutes walk away- so one can escape the summer crowds by staying in this hotel.

The ground floor foyer is less attractive but functional. The property is next to the train station so any view of the sea takes in the station as well.

Free parking right next to the property, very generous breakfast, family owned place which made it very homely and authentic, the building itself is amazing, like back in time, if you aren’t after modern, this will be your choice.

Nothing really, there is a bit of building work going on next to the property as it’s next to the train station and the docks but you can’t hear anything once inside, as the double glazing is very good; plus outside work is not something the owners can control.

Location and parking were excellent.

Stairs were difficult for my wife.

I stayed for one night on 31st October and it was the best overnight stay of my month in Italy so far. A historic building beautifully furnished and in a good location for exploring Gallipoli. The owners were very kind and helpful and the breakfast was incredible and so plentiful. Bed was comfy, shower was great and toiletries provided. Don’t hesitate to book this hotel you won’t be disappointed.
