Very comfortable bed sheets, quiet area
1. I exchanged the single room for a double one (for extra charge). Super comfortable bed sheets - the best I've ever tried. I felt like sleeping on clouds... super fluffy and soft. 2. Owner came to pick me with the car from the train station. Also the same for departure. 3. Quietness of the location. 4. Food choice - I had diet limitations and the owner provided suitable meal in accordance to my dietary needs.
1. Limited conversations due to barrier language. Owner (both husband and wife) speak 99% German. I used my few skills to communicate. 2. Owners readiness to help. From this perspective I would rather choose a hotel next time where the reception is ready to help with trips guidance around the area (like restaurants where to eat, places to visit, etc. I did my own research on internet or asked at the Information Center). There were no maps provided. My observation is that when I requested some information or addressed a question, the answer was given quickly/as if in rush and then the owner-lady disappeared to perform other duties. Overall I consider not a much friendly-oriented attitude.

A charming & peaceful stay in the beautiful Gastein valley
My partner and I spent 5 days in one of the Tobhartbauer delightful apartments (Schuhflicker) situated in the charming and peaceful Gastein valley, 30 minutes away by car from Zell Am See and 1 hour 10 minutes South of Salzburg. The apartment is ideal for 2 persons, is compact, well-lit, modern, very well-kept and highly up to standard in terms of comfort and practicalities. The apartment's windows all have a view of the mountains and surrounding nature... bonus! Family Hutter, the property owners, are super friendly and helpful. They were kind enough to recommend good restaurants, shops, attractions, etc in the area, and also explained what we had to know about the apartment's facilities. They always went that extra mile in order to ensure a pleasant stay for us. The Gastein valley and the vicinity have plenty to offer. During our stay, we've been to Bad Gastein, Kaprun, Zell Am See, Krimml and Salzburg – all boasting their unique charm. I would like to thank family Hutter for making us feel at home thus contributing to making our stay an unforgettable one. I do recommend this property!
The only drawbacks we encountered was that the family doesn't speak much English, however we always managed to communicate in some way or another. More information in English should be included for international tourists visiting the valley. Can't complain about anything else. The stay was a pleasant one.
