We had 1 night in Port Macquarrie as we travel up to Byron Bay. The Water's Edge was perfectly located in central PM. Close to great restaurants. Staff were friendly. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a night in PM.

To break up the drive between Brisbane and Canberra I like to stay in Port Macquarie. The Comfort Resort Waters Edge offers a perfect balance of clean, comfortable and quiet rooms with affordability. I was impressed with the helpful staff and location features such as the pool and restaurant. As the name suggests, it is situated directly along the edge of the Hastings River and makes for beautiful views and relaxing walks down to the Town Beach Lookout. This is my 'go-to' hotel but be sure to get in quick before they book out.

This hotel was very clean and very comfortable, and was located in a really great part of Port Macquarie - not too far from the centre of town. We paid for a room with a view over the pool, which came with bonus views of the water, and it was excellent value. I definitely recommend spending the extra bit of money for the view of the water. My only critique of the hotel was that it would be nice if it had a gym (even a small one), and perhaps the foyer area could use a bit of an update. Other than that though, there are no issues.

The "boutique hotel" is basically a motel with different name, would recommend tourists to pay little more and enjoy better facilities in other hotels around. Is expensive for the poor amenities this hotel has. You could hear other rooms noices after 9 pm. People smoking with signs of non-smoking area.. My room had water view, and during day a caravan parked in front of my window.
