upon arrival a 10% service fee based on the total amount was asked of us, a fee which wasn't mentioned in my agoda booking. the receptionist said agoda isnt a good site to book as they often hide certain fees, so theres that. aside from that, the room was freezing cold 25/8. no heater, no warm blanket, only hot water and a hair dryer to suffice. me and my family were constantly shivering from the cold, and to make matters worse, our room was right beside the front desk. the noise from outside was unimaginable, from both the outside bars and the plaza outside our room, it made it hard to sleep at night due to all the noise. for most of our stay, we had tour pick ups early morning. the hotel had free breakfast, but we often left too early to avail of it. so were told to inform the front desk ahead of time to receieve a "breakfast in a box" instead, but it was beyond disappointing. quite literally a banana and a bottle of water in a paper bag two days in a row. when we were finally able to eat their proper breakfast, we were shocked by sandwiches, croissants, cakes, and we thought they could've at least given us something better than a banana. the saving grace of this hotel was its location. super close to city center, walkable in less than 10 minutes to plaza de armas, and made hotel pick ups extremely convinient and hassle free. surrounded by numerous restaurants that can serve as a quick bite after a long, tiring day. all in all, couldve been better. a heater, proper takeaway breakfast, and soundproofing wouldve been nice. and also a heads up on the extra service fee, we were shocked and unprepared when asked for it. unpleasant experience overall.

Stayed in Room 101, a room inside Casa Hostal Rojas. We booked two separate stays at Hotel Rojas Inn (before and after our trip to Machu Picchu) - first in a Quadruple Room and then in a Standard Triple Room. However, due to a broken water pipe, we were relocated to Casa Hostal Rojas, situated across the street and down the block. PROS: Room 101 at Casa Hostal Rojas seemed more spacious and quieter than those at Hotel Rojas Inn. We loved Sergio, the main worker at Casa Hostal Rojas, who was attentive and friendly throughout our stay. The room was well-equipped with multiple heavy-duty blankets for warmth and the balcony offered a nice glimpse of the main square. There was also ample storage space and the free breakfast buffet from 6:00am-10:00am was decent. CONS: The male staff member at check-in did not apologize for the transfer to the hostal, simply stating that it was the only available option. We also encountered issues with intermittent hot water in the shower. The frequent honking in the vicinity could be problematic for light sleepers. Additionally, although we appreciated the 24/7 hot water and coca tea, it was inconvenient to have to walk across the street and down the block to Hotel Rojas Inn to access them.
