The food was good and the fact that Lake Geneva was just a small walk away was really nice.

Found ants on the bathroom floor and it was very loud, people slamming doors in the middle of the night, but that was more the residents than the hostel itself.

Nice place, unkind manager.

The social areas are nice, the breakfast was pretty good and the private rooms were comfortable.

The share rooms could be better, no privacy between beds or good access to plugs from the beds. That’s why I decided to change to private room. I had an issue during my second night that I hope they managed better. Specially the manager was so rude, instead of apologizing or try to improve the situation, she just blame me and blame the employee, who was actually really nice. It could be a Hostel, but kindness and respect for the client belongings it’s crucial in hospitality. Just becuase this I don’t think I will stay again here. Also to far from the center, no restaurants or grocery stores near.

I liked it!

The hostel is very connected to the buses and you can easily access the city center and the train station. For my room, the bed was comfy, I had linens, towels and shower gel. For what I needed it was enough. In front of the sink you also have a big mirror. The breakfast was included and it contained a few things - salami, cheese, yogurt, boiled eggs, butter, tomatoes and cucumbers; different types of jam and a local brand of chocolate to put on bread which was very good. Other than that, there was not much to chose from. You have coffee and tea, with regular or almond milk. I had wifi everywhere, even if sometimes it disconnected. I saw that there is a special room for working, above the lobby, but I did all I needed in the room, it was just fine. The heat comes from the floor and it was hot all the time. I would highly recommend it for shorter stays or if you are okay with the downsides - for me it was just fine.

The room wasn't cleaned - I gathered enough trash and I would've appreciated if the towels were changed even once. You have no frigide nor tv in the room. PLEASE TAKE ADAPTORS! Some outlets might not fit the swiss ones. Not all the outlets worked and I had no outlet near the bed - I had to work on the table that's next to the sink. It can get very hot in the room and the only small window wasn't enough to get some fresh air so I just simply stayed with the door open - because the other windows couldn't open. Also, the window had something on it that gathered mold... maybe it's something they'll take care in the future. The breakfast was the same every morning and you don't have alternatives to chose from. If you are vegan or vegetarian or have different allergies then good luck!

cool and comfy

Very clean - and I have to say fancy hostel desginwise. A bustop is in walking distance as well as the lake (10 min) which was lovely at the next oring. You receive a guest car so bus transportation is even free. The bed was comfy, and the breakfast was small, but with fresh option and fresh bread, juices etc. The concrete architecture is really cool but the room seemed a bit cold. The bed was really comfy. I had a room with shared bathroom, what I dont mind but: I missed a mirror in the room. Even a small one, that would be really cool.

they provide good breakfast, and the city pass is included in the price.

No cooking area (no place to eat anything) electrical outlets are not next to bed. Plus, the outlets are located so closely to each other that if one of mates use a mid-size charger, other outlets are blocked. You may need to charge your mobile taking turns. The shower booths are in toilet and you need to endure the poop smell while taking shower.

Helpful staff, breakfast is good. They've large living area and prepare free bus ticket only in Lausanne town for me.

No kitchen Tap water can fill only at toilet. No plug for each bed , mixed dorm.

Lausanne Youth Hostel

Breakfast is pretty good..

The Lausanne hostel is a little far from the old centre or the Ouchy area, you will likely be using public transport to get there. The hostel is an unashamedly concrete building , looking rather Soviet. The facilities and the breakfast are good, and it is clean. It seems to be used by schools/colleges for block bookings and was at times incredibly rowdy and noisy.

Very Good

Breakfast was quite fabulous. Rooms were clean and workably spacious. We liked the ambience and the exterior layout of the property. A bit out of the Lausanne town centre, but public transport facilities are nearby , so no issue for connections. Reception people was highly helpful with smiling face. They efficiently arranged for taxis for our group also, at the time of check out.

Bathrooms could have been a bit more spacious. And, though small issue, some softer pillows would have been appreciated.

decent for sleeping and very nice breakfast

The breakfast is amazing! the open spaces and the price are also ok

as in many hostels, toilets and bathrooms are not very clean. The single room was ok and decent in size, but there were spider webs on the ceiling. The matress felt a bit worn out, but I generally used the room only for sleeping and for that, it was totally ok!

the breakfast & free travel card & hotel staff was very kind & helpful they helped me alot..

there was not towel, shampoo, soap, electric kettle provided. it should be provided as I upgraded my room as a private room
