Good communication

We stayed in an ensuite cabin and were out for an event during the days we stayed, so I can't comment on any of the facilities this park offered but I thought it seemed well equipped and like a great place to take the family. Our cabin was spacious and clean, and was just like the photos. I was really impressed by it. The staff were helpful and very accommodating to our late check in request, even though we did actually arrive just minutes before reception closed. I really appreciated the dog friendliness of it and I could tell dog owners made up a good percentage of the people staying there this weekend. The park is in a great location for easy access when coming in or out of christchurch and also handy to Mcleans island.

Overall I thought the price was quite steep for what it is. The cabin was lovely but basic, nothing high-end about it but at near $200/night for a cabin in a holiday park, it was quite expensive really. I have stayed at other campgrounds where this would cost $120-$150. All the chairs in our room were old and stained, and the couch had definitely seen better days. They are not things I particularly cared about, but for the price I would have expected better. I also thought the price per night for dogs staying inside was a bit expensive too. We were out all day and only coming home to sleep (which my dog had her own bed to sleep on), so to pay $45 plus a pet bond for that seemed a bit rough. I understand taking a pet bond and not refunding if the dog has made a mess, but for responsible people cleaning up after their dogs it builds up quickly, especially as the room itself wasn't overly cheap and the furniture in it was already stained. It didn't bother me much personally but I think it is important to note that this place is not overly quiet. Planes going over really rattled the building, and you are also near to the motorway so there is a bit of traffic noise. Being a holiday park, we were both awoken a few times in the night to fire alarms, van doors slamming, people talking loudly outside the window, and dogs in vehicles outside barking. If you are a light sleeper this could be an issue.

The staff are really friendly and helpful, beds are super comfortable and the units are nice and warm and clean. We normally stay for work and normally have a car transporter so parking is really great. There are two eateries just a few meters away a fuel station, and a dog wash.

The map needs to be updated . Hard to find at night with the numbers Specially with a 22 way over by 10,11,12,13 .... lol. And the night safe has worn buttons so a guessing game .
