I wanted to love this but it didn’t live up to expectations

The facilities were beautiful, the room was super comfortable, and the location was amazing.

Look, I wanted to absolutely love this accommodation and if I wasn’t travelling with a small child I think I probably would have. They only allow certain times to use the pool for children, this isn’t a problem but then we will asked to also be quiet at the same time. Considering how much we paid we asked to use a pram, then we were told that we had to hire a pram, obviously this wasn’t going to happen so they ended up giving us a pram to use but this should be included for guests. As part of the cost of the accommodation you would think that that would be other things included - e.g. maybe a coffee or a tea down in the lounge. But no it was €13 for a machine coffee… Not even a barista coffee. When converted to Australian dollars that’s bloody ridiculous for a coffee in which all I need to do is press the button. This facilities were okay, a hot tub would definitely be a great conclusion or even just like contrast therapy to elevate the spa area. We have stated a lot of high-end hotels in Europe and I was really wanting to love this one but for the price it just wasn’t really adding up for me.

Summer holiday

This is the second time my family and I chose the Shangri-la hotel. A perfect location: easy to go everywhere in Paris, and of course a perfect place near the Eiffel Tower. Staff: friendly, helpful General services: welcome services, cleaning services, gym, spa, swimming pool, and sauna are wonderful. Most services are really quick and careful. The hotel is very child-friendly. My daughter is really impressed.

First, I think maybe because of the language barrier, there was an issue with our changing room process. We stayed at the hotel during 2 periods with 2 different bookings. When we moved from our old room to the new suite, the new room was not ready, but the staff gave me the key. However, that is not a big problem. They fixed it really quickly. The weirdest thing is that the hotel did not allow me (even though I stayed there as a resident) to take photos inside the hotel. I chose the off-peak time (11pm) to avoid disturbing other guests. This is the first time. Honestly, all luxury hotels and resorts (including Shangri-La London) welcomed and offered us the most comfortable space and support to take photos. Finally, there was a unique place that we needed to book in advance for taking photos. I asked the staff and told them my preferred time. However, their answer was not sure. The staff told me that there are no bookings at the time I prefer, but they cannot book in advance. They told me that I should come at that time and ask again to check. I think it will be a waste of time because what will happen if I prepare everything, but they might say that the space is not available? Honestly, it sounds confusing. The final thing (I am not sure because it is just a feeling; I hope I am wrong), and the worst one, is discrimination. I have a lot of luxury choices for staying in Paris, but I chose Shangri-La due to its Eiffel Tower view. Besides, I stayed at Shangri-La London, and it was really good. However, what I received here in Paris is not what I expected. The suite I booked is quite different from the images I received. I know there is a social network influencer staying there at the same time. Honestly, I have stayed at many luxury hotels and resorts with many celebrities and influencers (on social media), but I was not treated differently from them, or at least the staff made me feel that way. I understand that they are big names. I hope I was wrong.

Good hotel but not worth the money.

In general a great hotel with great people and great service. In the center and in walking distance to the Eifel Tower.

The rooms are absolutely overpriced and every little thing costs extra. Also ridiculous prices for the minibar items. We booked a room with terrace. The photos showed a view to the Eifel Tower and the terraces looked big in the photos. We received a room without Eifel Tower view and the terrace was quite small. We had breakfast on the terrace one morning, which was awesome. The general breakfast was small with few options.

What is not to like about this hotel it is perfect and our room was exceptional every window framed the Eiffel Tower. The staff are Al amazing from the front desk to the valet all are smiling and eager to make your stay one to remember! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
