We - a family of four - thoroughly enjoyed our stay of several days at Komati River Lodge. The location, first of all, is truly beautiful right next to the impressive Komati river. Our chalet, furthermore, was very comfortable, spacious and well equipped. The atmosphere in the compound is very pleasant and relaxing with beautiful trees and perfectly maintained gardens. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. They also organized s fascinating day trip to Maputo in Mocambique for us. So, in a nutshell, one of the best places we stayed in while visiting South Africa

Friendly clean stopover just before the border.
The wonderful staff is very helpfull with tips for border crossing and the restaurant chef packed us an amazing breakfast in the evening so we could leave at 5:00 to cross the border.
The truck queue fir the border extends beyond the turn off so a bit of a tricky drive and the underpass under the train tracks just before the resort gate gave us a few nervous moments but we got through it safely in the end.

The actual grounds were lovely, well kept, neat and tidy.
Communication from the reception was very good.
Welcoming, friendly staff.
The chalet rooms were very spacious - 3 beds in each room, both with an ensuite. (Jakkels Chalet)
Our chalet was tired and the bathrooms were so old they seemed dirty.
The linen and towels were also old. The chalet had an old musty smell.
