Beautiful building in a great location but run down and in need of a lot of TLC

Charming historical building right on the Liore right on the road into the town.

Location and staff were lovely. Very easy to get to. Charming historical building and garden right on the Liore. Brand new spacious bathroom. Room was spacious with 14 foot high ceilings with a peekaboo view of the river and a view of the garden from the bathroom. Restaurant on site was good but short staffed.

Accessibility is limited due to no elevator. Bed was a double not a queen even though the room was very spacious so a bit tight for two people. Room was cold. At least extra blankets were provided. Walls were bare (no wall art in the room) so it felt cavernous not cozy.

Disappointing after a good start.

Lovely location. Nice welcome on arrival

On arrival the man on reception was really helpful and friendly and you accommodated all of our requests. We said we wouldn't have breakfast as needed to leave early. I came down to the breakfast room about 7am as I was looking for milk for tea before we left. There is no milk provided in the room. I asked the lady setting up breakfast and she repeatedly told me that milk was just for guests having breakfast. So it is basically impossible to have a cup of tea at the hotel. Not great service at all and also all done in a very difficult manner. Also someone left a usable vape on my 13 year old son's bed on arrival. Not under the sheets but on top of the duvet. Luckily he gave it to us. I left it at reception when I left. Assume must be a cleaner and hopefully not previous guest. Not a great check of the room for cleanliness. What seemed like a quirky and historic hotel started to become dated, dirty and sloppily run I did send a message to the hotel afterwards with the points made above but still no response after a fortnight so time to write a review unfortunately.

Nice location (bang on Loire) in old castle/big farmhouse. Loads of charm and atmosphere. Room pretty big, everything you need, with view on river.

Maybe the styling of the room, the furniture was a bit simple. But all worked!

Never going back

Location we were revisiting after 3 years - we did not know it was no longer a Logis and was under new ownership . It had gone downhill

No staff to speak to after a certain time , my parents bedroom had a fly and ant infestation - no one was around to deal with it - their room was filthy - room 301 - the restaurant served heated up food which was awful - so many issues - the garden was full of dead plants in pots - there was just no care -

Most lovely position for a hotel but it needs some care and attention.

The room was enormous, bed comfortable but no extras such as chairs to relax or anything to make it more comfortable. We decided that €15 p.p, for breakfast was not worth it, no croissants just a bit of bread and some coffee

It was very dirty in the courtyard a full ashtray not emptied by anyone. There was no bar in order to have a relaxing drink before dinner. The food in the restaurant was disappointing, obviously sous vide not fresh and the breakfast was not worth €15

Really enjoyable - good location close to Orleans, very relaxing and quiet surroundings

Room was nice and spacious with a desk and sofa and two beds. Excellent view of the river which was an unexpected bonus.

A missed opportunity

The location of this hotel is excellent. Views of the river & easy walks to all the bar’s & restaurants. The room was clean & the bed was very comfy

Common areas are in bad repair. The shower was a drizzle & the only member of staff we came across, the woman who took our key from us in the morning, was probably the rudest, unfriendliest person I’ve ever come across. She snatched the key & could barely say goodbye. This isn’t a joke. This was exactly what happened.

We had a beautiful big room on the ground floor and although we appeared to be the only guests we were given excellent service. The dinner was good as was the breakfast, served on the terrace overlooking the Loire.

Beautiful setting by river in historic building with lovely gardens. Staff were very helpful & breakfast was excellent.

Facilities were nothing special - no air conditioning or fan with outside temperatures around 35c. En suite had a bath, but shower did not work.

The hotel is in a very good position but could do with a bit of TLC especially at the rear garden.

The room had a wonderful view over the river, and was spacious, unfortunately the window is small . The shower room was large with a walk-in shower, and good size washbasin. Again unfortunately we were there during a top 30's heatwave so the room was very hot, but the hotel supplied a fan, which was much appreciated. The hotel included in there popular facilities a restaurant, which didn't actually belong to the hotel, even though it is on the premises. It was my birthday and I was looking forward to a nice meal. The menu was minimal which is okay if there has been thought and effort put into the courses, but it was pretty plain. Plus it was not cheap, I get a lot better at home. We had not booked breakfast, expecting a good feed the night before. I would stay again, as the hotel is in a very pleasant area,

It is a beautiful location and a nice old building.

The building needs some love and care, it is falling apart. On top of that the flies from the river are a nuisance so the dilemma is to open the window to get some cool air with flies or to keep the windows closed and endure the damp heat.

Inspiring typically French place. Above our normal budget but worth it for the sense of grandeur.

We loved our warm welcome from the host after a long journey - it made so much difference. The rooms were magnificent with hugely high ceilings and nice bathrooms and wonderful views. We got rooms next to each other which was great with two children (recommend Rm 401-402!). The restaurant next door was very good (not cheap) & had it have been sunny it would have been amazing to sit in the beautiful green courtyard garden.

Authentic stay in a lovely chateau

Beautiful property, lovely staff, great restaurant.

The staff would leave the windows open to air the room, meaning there were a lot of flies and mosquitoes in the room in the evening. It’s an old building, so you hear people in the hall way, but all guests were very quiet. Except one couple with a dog who barked a lot, I thought this hotel did not allow dogs.

Great place to stop over in mid France.

Great location, Good restaurant for the evening meal with excellent food, Rooms spacious, reasonably appointed and beds very comfortable.

Breakfast was very poor and certainly not good value. Arriving just before 9am, we had to ask for milk and even croissants. These were brought out in very sparing supply so any other guest would have to ask again. Disappointing to say the least and certainly not worth the money.

Close to the highway and much more preferable than the chain-hotels along the highway when you need a place to stay overnight. It is a lovely building with outdated rooms on a great location along the river. The restaurant in the same nice building is great. Easy walk into a lovely town.

Excellent host, very friendly and helpful. Nice, large room overlooking the river. Wonderful location. Lovely ambiance inside and outside. Excellent food, both dinner and breakfast.

The wi-fi was almost non-existant, certainly not strong enough for anything other than receiving emails without attachments. Dinner, although the food was tasty, was expensive for what it was.
