Enjoyable stay in a well run hotel to enjoy local cultural sights and autumn walking in the forest.

Pleasantly quiet location in attractive Annweiler, surrounded by the Pfälz forest. Good breakfast choices and excellent restaurant with an Italian dimension. Reasonably large and adequately equipped bedroom with practical bathroom.

Mattress and pillow were adequate, but could be improved.

our room was on second floor and my husband has walking difficulty so found it hard to climb the stairs but the hotel was so nice he said he would manage…we have booked it again for our return trip

Location was great and breakfast was great. Overall, I’d recommend it and stay again.

Close to the train station as well as the town square.

In this day and age you should be able to pay using a credit card rather than being forced to pay cash. The bathroom towels weren’t the best. The staff didn’t speak much English. While it really wasn’t a problem, this is the only hotel in Germany I’ve been to that English wasn’t spoken very well. Sure, I’m in a foreign country and respect that German is their language, but am mentioning it for this review.

Useful stopover on a return trip to Uk: six hours drive to Calais

Good quality accommodation in this converted water mill, with the enclosed moving water wheel the feature of the restaurant. Excellent Italian food in the restaurant and a very good breakfast buffet.

Pretty Town, good looking building, great meal.

Great and beautiful location, lovely quality food at a very reasonable price

Suspect we were given the only smoking room on that landing as it was the only one without a no smoking notice on the door, possibly because we booked through booking.com and not direct. We feel that we had been given a lower quality room. Definitely got the impression previous occupants had been smoking in that room. We asked for a bed with no end on but this request was not fulfilled.

Great place to stay - lovely location, very comfortable and friendly hotel.

Both the dinner and the breakfast were excellent, very tasty. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the room extremely comfortable, with all the facilities that you would need.

We struggled to find the location and then discovered that we had to park in a public car park close by, which wasn't clear when we booked. However, once we located the hotel and the parking everything went very smoothly.

Friendly hosts. There was a bottle of water on the house in the room. Basic but OK breakfast.

Doesn't have private parking spots. There's a public one about 100m away. Room was pretty basic and the walls are really thin.

A lovely traditional hotel with a good restaurant and food, spacious rooms and friendly staff

The best breakfast we'd had all week - i.e. bacon and eggs! We loved the restaurant with its working water wheel, and the Italian staff were very friendly and helpful

Tea/coffee making in the room would have been useful, and although we managed to park, there isn't really an official parking area

Tolles sehr zentral gelegenes Hotel in einem wunderschönen historischen Gebäude. Alle waren sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend.Das Frühstück im Saal mit Wasserrad war gut und reichlich . Unser Zimmer war sehr geräumig mit Sofa und einem großen Badezimmer. Die Einrichtung war schon etwas älter aber die Betten waren sehr bequem. Wir würden wieder kommen 😊

Keine gute Verdunklungsmöglichkeit der Fenster , sehr Fußkalt da Fliesen .

Gute Lage mit Parkplatz

Die Lage ist malerisch und sehr schön zentral. Ideal für Ausflüge und einen netten Abend. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber und zweckmäßig eingerichtet. Perfekt gelegener Hotelparkplatz! Problemloser Check-in mit Schlüsseln in der Tür.

Das Frühstück war OK aber sehr standardmäßig, mit etwas persönlicher Note und lokaler Ausprägung könnte man das Ganze deutlich hervorheben.

De uitstraling van dit hotel met een waterrad middenin het restaurant is uniek. De kamer is tiptop evenals de badkamer. Vergeet niet om ook het restaurant te bezoeken. Het Italiaanse eten is erg lekker en met zorg klaargemaakt.

Tolle Lage und schönes Ambiente, hier würden wir auf jeden Fall wieder herkommen.

Die Lage ist ausgezeichnet mitten in der Altstadt von Annweiler. Das alte Mühlrad innerhalb des Gastraumes ist ein echter Hingucker, abends läuft es sogar. Der Check-In hat hervorragend geklappt, obwohl wir während der Mittagspause angekommen sind. An der Tür hing eine Nachricht an uns mit den notwendigen Infos - danke dafür! Das Personal ist sehr freundlich, egal ob an der Rezeption, im Restaurant oder beim Frühstück. Beim Frühstück ist es kein Thema, Kaffee nachzubestellen. Das hatten wir in anderen Unterkünften auch schon anders erlebt.

Sehr günstige Lage mitten in der Altstadt. Das Parken ist kostenlos, aber für größere Autos nicht ganz einfach (aber trotzdem machbar). Das Essen im dazugehörigen Restaurant war sehr gut. Auch das Personal war stets freundlich und zuvorkommend. Leider ließ die Sauberkeit etwas zu wünschen übrig. Das Frühstück fiel mit Aufbackbrötchen und nicht all zu viel Auswahl etwas mager aus.

Besonderer Abend am alten Wasserrad

Die Lage ist besonders. Das ganze hat Charme. Wenn man die Einfahrt in die Straße und die Parkplätze hat, dann ist es zwar eng aber machbar. Ich war wohl der einzige Gast, aber das Frühstück war trotzdem ausbaufähig.

Erholung und Entspannung auch für einen Kurztrip, ist hier möglich

Die Zimmer waren sauber und nett eingerichtet. Das Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Restaurant war toll eingerichtet, mediterranes Flair, das alte langsam drehende Wasserrad ein toller und entspannender Anblick. Das Essen im Restaurant war sehr lecker. Das Frühstück reichlich und genussvoll. Das Badezimmer war ebenfalls sehr sauber und bot sehr viel Stauraum sowie wie viel Ablagen, Urlauberinnen werden begeistert sein. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder vorbei. Und Annweiler am Trifels ist eine schöne sehenswürdige kleine Stadt, hat uns auch sehr gut gefallen. Ist auch ein guter Startpunkt für Kurztrips ins nahe Elsass. Weissembourg/Elsass ganz in der Nähe, ist ein unbedingtes muss.

Ehrlich gesagt haben wir keinen Punkt zum Kritisieren gefunden.
