    Scenic Hotel Punakaiki was one of the highlights of our West Coast trip. The setting is spectacular, with stunning views of the Tasman Sea and dramatic coastal scenery all around. It felt like the perfect place to unwind and enjoy the natural beauty of the region. The hotel was clean and comfortable, the staff were welcoming, and the location was ideal for visiting the Pancake Rocks and exploring the surrounding area. We also appreciated the peaceful atmosphere and beautiful sunsets. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the West Coast.

    Great room, with great views. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Right on the beach. Food was excellent.

    The heater in our bathroom wasn’t working, and the room was a bit dusty and had some rust, so it could use better upkeep. However, our room faced the ocean with a stunning view, and at night we could even see the Milky Way. Overall, we were happy with our stay—and with some maintenance, it would be perfect.
