I was happy that it was about a 20 minute walk from the main square. I got to get in a walk and have a nice scenery to take in on that walk.

We had a great stay at Scandic Klarälven. The room was very comfortable and the staff was very welcoming and sweet. There are great areas right outside the hotel to walk the dog if you're travelling with pets. And there's free parking. A big plus was the sauna and pool and the lovely outdoor terass to have breakfast on in the morning. The breakfast was really nice.
I can recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a nice stay being on the road.
Just to have in mind that the road outside is a bit noisy the whole night. We stayed in the summer and needed to have the window open and we were towards the highway so we heard traffic pretty much the whole night. But all in all we still slept very good.

The hotel was everything we wanted and more.
The room was clean and spacious, with comfortable beds. The bathroom was sparkling clean and had all the necessary amenities.
The view of the river and the old city of Karlstad from the room was amazing.
There's a large parking lot in front of the hotel with free parking for the guests.
The swimming pool and the saunas are in a great condition and really nice to visit after a long day.
The breakfast is great - there's plenty of choices for food, all delicious.
The staff was friendly and helpful.
Totally can recommend to stay!

Breakfast was great-variety/options. Outdoor seating option was very pleasant.
Soccer team running the halls banging on doors & food on floors from them. Had to schedule a time for breakfast, then told to arrive 15min before or after time we chose. When arriving at breakfast, no one verified us as guests or for our scheduled time.
