Relaxed and blissful stay

We had a wonderful two weeks, the hotel is located right on the beach and has three pools, and a buffet combining Greek and international foods. This is not a huge complex which was just right for our little toddler. The staff are wonderful, from the start of the day with Evangelica our cleaning lady who was like a doting Greek grandmother for our daughter, yoga lessons with Eva, the attentionate staff during meal times, the welcoming receptionists, my birthday excursion organised by Momo, to our expert cocktail makers Costas and Vengalis! We made some great friends and returned home fully refreshed. The evening entertainment is good with Greek dancing, belly dancing, gigs, etc.

The bathrooms are on the small side, this wasn't much of an issue for us but it is worth taking into consideration if you have mobility issues. The hotel could probably benefit from having an appointed indoor play area for children with toys, books, etc. to keep them entertained when the weather is not so good and in the evening.

One of the best kept secrets in Crete.

This was our second visit to Kalyves Beach Hotel and we can honestly say, we’ve had a great experience and the holiday was wonderful. The staff, food & evening entertainment were perfect. Our friends both have difficulties with walking so use mobility scooters and although there’s no specific accessible rooms the staff did their best to accommodate them in a suitable room. The whole hotel is accessible in the communal areas including one of the pools with Roman steps with a rail for easy access. Kalyves itself is a wonderful little place with a lovely beach. This is our ‘go to’ place for a relaxing holiday.

We would have preferred a shower cubicle rather than a shower curtain round a small shower tray but that’s just a personal preference.

Ideal for a peaceful stay, but children’s activities are quite limited.

The hotel is charming and has its own beach, which makes the stay especially enjoyable. The food is delicious and varied, with something for everyone, and there was always at least one seafood option available. The staff are exceptionally friendly and welcoming — from the reception to the cleaning team, everyone made us feel comfortable and well taken care of

The hotel could improve its facilities for children. There is a small playground, but it is located directly on the beach and lacks shade on hot days. A dedicated children’s pool would also be a great addition, as the current shallow area is quite basic and not equipped with slides or toys.

The best ❤️

I was there for the first time and I just fell in love with this place ❤️ Everything AMAZING : hotel, staff, excellent food, so many choices, even if you want to eat just "slim" food 😉😂 but who wants that in holiday 🙄👀🤣, many choices of drink with or without alcohol. The management 10 out of 10, I definitely will love to be part of their team 😊 Lot of opportunities to travel in different kind of trips , very easy to book, direct from a little desk opposite with reception 👌 Location brilliant, on the beach, you don't worry about anything, sunbed, umbrellas already there for you. And the top is the water, wow so clear and warm. But if you fancy a pool you have 2 outdoors and one inside. Also the entertainment is fabulous, every evening different tematic, fun, entertaining, please let yourself involved, you are in holiday, make it fun. I loved because every morning at 9:30 I did yoga and every day at 12 aqua gym, wow that was so lovely and beneficial with a gorgeous instructor who sometimes is accompanied by her little sweet girl. I don't have enough words to say here how much I love this place. If you go definitely won't be disappointed at all and tell them you read Naomi's opinion and now you are there. Just because I want them to know how much I love them 😊😍😊 Guys well done for EVERYTHING, see you at 1 September 2026. I can't wait. PS. I have cancer, I still fighting and I came between treatment to have a relaxing time and I promise I will still be alive to come next year LOVE YOU ❤️ KALYVES HOTEL BEACH ♥️

Great beachfront hotel

Great location on the beach and next to beach front tavernas. Very friendly hard working staff in all areas of the hotel offering first class service. Lovely food and rooms and evening entertainment every night we stayed. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely return.

Zero luxury, food not great and similar to a canteen but not hot, nice beachfront location

The ‘hot’ food was cold or lukewarm for breakfast and dinner. Some meat very dry. Food and restaurant is like a canteen. No actual separate restaurant (same room as reception) and no bar other than the pool bar, meaning all drinks (other than the restaurant area) are served in plastic cups (including the evenings). Unable to relax on balcony with sea view as extremely loud music blasted from pool area below from 5pm. Very small shower with only a very old fashioned shower curtain which is ineffective and the entire bathroom floor ends up soaking wet.

Totally recommend this beautiful beach resort!

The hotel is right at the beach which is exactly what I was looking for. The staff of the hotel is very friendly. We’ve got room upgrade with the sea view for what we are thankful. We asked for a late check out and it was possible, we just paid for the room but the hotel allowed us to eat lunch without additional fee. Food is really tasty, different kinds of meals, fruit and vegetables and desserts. The atmosphere, kind people is what made this hotel very nice and we totally recommend it 100%.

would definitely come back

we had such a nice holiday, all the staff is very friendly and engaged, they clean the whole property every day, you can eat and drink as much as you want the whole day, very nice beach and pool area, eating next to the river is very idyllic, we got a free room upgrade, they provide beach towels, there is an evening program every evening and also other activities like yoga and they have a passable gym, we would definitely stay here again

bathroom is small and air conditioning was only cooling a bit but wasn’t a problem since we didn’t stay in the room much anyways having the beach right in front of us

Nice stay, good hotel

Very nice beach and location, extremely friendly employees, quiet and nice hotel especially for mental rest from standard life duties ♡

Unfortunately, the hotel, rooms and food are not 4☆, but it is a good 3☆. The room and the cleanliness of the room for the first entry and impression was not very good, but later during the stay it was ok. The toilet is extremely small and claustrophobic so we used it only with the door open. Certain furniture in the room should be replaced as it does not match a 4☆ hotel.

Near perfect

A lovely hotel right on the beach front , perfect location for a perfect relaxing week , all staff lovely. Food was good but felt like nothing went with anything to make a meal for example on the kids section one night there was plain pasta , Brussels and pizza . It just needs to be a little more thought out.

Kalyves Beach hotel is located away from the noise of big city but with everything that you need to have a good holiday just few steps away. Extremely helpful and professional staff ( everyone was so nice, unfortunately I can’t remember all names but special thanks to reception and bar staff). All inclusive option presents good value for money. GT travel desk opposite reception is worth mentioning. Matthew is very helpful no matter if you want to organise tour, hire the car or just ask what is around.

Great location next to the beach. Nice view from the balcony, comfortable bed. Entertainment every evening, food was nice and varied. Very helpful travel agent (Mathew from GT travel) located within hotel for trips, car hire etc,

Rooms could have been a bit cleaner, but I think the cleaning staff had a lot to do, so not their fault. Restaurant staff not very friendly, soft drinks/cocktails were mostly very syrupy and undrinkable.

Lovely stay and very price conscious

Good easy location when you rent a car, great to do some trips to Lake Kournas or the Natural park Lovely for small kids, with a sweet animator team and activities every day The beach is wonderful and right at the hotel Food is fresh and good (although on the last day I did get a stomach virus from it) Lovely staff

Not the cleanest of rooms daily, but for the price I was fine with it! It’s soooo worth the price I can imagine it’s chaotic when it’s fully booked, but we were there when it was quite calm and nice

I did not like the misinformation around the room upgrade I got. The information was misleading and it was inappropriately explained. Also it was not clarified that double rooms can have 2 singles joined together.

Waisted but the careless management team

The food, the location.

We had an accident in the room, the shower’s glass door fell off and broke with my wife inside. She had multiple cuts all over her body. When I called the reception they barely sent a cleaner to remove the glass and fix the door but I had to ask for a doctor to help clean my wife’s wounds. After that no one from the hotel cared, I reported that to the reception asking to speak to the manager but he never manifests himself. We are discussing with out lawyer now…

Great hotel right on the nice beach, free sunbeds always available. Friendly staff, quite OK food on all incl basis. Rooms Ok, nothing special but very comfy beds. We really enjoyed our stay here!

We had a really nice holiday! Whole hotel was very clean, it is situated in nice Beach area with a little creak. It was really nice to have a meal and watch duks in the river. Our room cleaning crew was very nice and helpful and spécial thank to Penelope at the front desk. She can do miracles. She arranged for us late check out, our flight was at the night and with two small kids, it was so useful. Food was great, kids enjoyed little pancakes every morning and they were over the moon with ice cream bar.

The only thing was very cold water in hotel's swimming pools.

Nice and cozy Family stay

Rooms were big and cozy. Hotel is clean, SPA is great! Niki, the manager of the SPA is a very kind and lovely person. Mrs. Penelope, manager at the reception was also very kind and helpful. Shows in the evening were nice and food was reasonable. It was great that we could enter the bigger hotel by the same management, Thank you for a nice stay!

Showers were small and not eligible for either adults or small kids. The hotel underwent a massive renovations, unfortunately that didn't include the showers. Doors are thin and thus it was noisy, especially since our room was right in front of the elevators.

That the room states air con but it dependant when uts turned on so some days are room was pretty warm and we couldn't turn it down and the air when it was working isn't great.

Good buffet breakfast with lots of choice Clean looking modern hotel, well maintained Good facilities including Pool and Gym. Option to have a buffet evening meal in the hotel. This was good. The hotel had access to two private beaches with free deckchairs

Pool area by main reception does not give a good first impression. Some guests not so modest. Tourists in the town can be loud and rude.
