Amar Hostel & Suites

They upgraded us to a one bedroom which was so spacious and nice. The beds were kind of hard, but the covers were great and they gave two pillows. Great location, 20 minute walk from main bus station ( it’s a hike) but once you’re in the town it’s a great spot- close to a bus line too. Very good for surfers - they even have stands and wet suit holder for them. The tiling in the building is beautiful and the showers felt big and cozy castle vibes. The staff is sooooo kind and very helpful- it was so amazing that they English. The kitchen was great, but no freezer. But we liked the space so much we expended the trip by a day and they made that process seamless.

The rooms were quite cold with no extra blankets or way to change the room temperature. It was a bit cold when I was there, so that had an impact on it being cold.

Overall amazing experience! The location is in the city center and the garden/terrace is magical - looks like paradise there. if you don’t like spending much time in your room you can go outside there is a lot of places to sit - garden, small kitchen house, some places also downstairs. really really good job with common area for chilling. staff was really friendly

there were two minor things i didn’t like: 1. the walls, ceiling, floors and doors are very thin. so if outside of your room or from the upstairs someone is loud - you will hear them well. in my three days happened only once so should’t be a problem. also you can just tell them to be quieter - which is slightly more difficult to do if the noise is coming from upstairs (my case) 2. the beds are made of metal and are quite squeaky. so every time i climbed upstairs to my bed or turned in the bed i made a noise. it is especially irritating when living with many people (my case). i think by the second day everyone got used to it so it was fine. also a minor thing.

The location is great, but no parking space.

They sold us a double room with a beautiful picture on booking.com. But as we arrived we got a double room which was completely opposite of the one they show. It’s like renting a car with a Ferrari picture and get a Lada at arrival. It’s a scam. I can’t believe booking.com doesn’t take any action. They probably have one beautiful room and use it to attract people but then they don’t deliver. I felt ripped off and would never have booked that place if they would have shown the actual double room we got.
