Great location in stylist small hotel

Nice decor and design. Different and stylist without being TOO expensive. In a great location near some of the more traditional smaller streeets. Good breakfast

The music during breakfast was loud and had a strong « lounge », after hours, Friday night vibe. It didn’t feel appropriate and relaxing at breakfast. It was very unpleasant, compared to previous times, when there would be nice jazz music.

Loved this place

We stayed three nights to visit Auckland attractions before heading south on a tour. Loved the architecture, friendly service, and excellent food in the restaurant! The super convenient central location, on a quieter back street, is also a huge asset. Would definitely recommend.

The location is superb, close to shops and restaurants and the cruise terminal if you are taking a cruise. We were given a room upgrade which made for a very enjoyable and comfortable stay. The breakfast was not a buffet but there were a selection of good choices available.

Unique five star take

Great boutique hotel;. The Art Deco/Mid Century Modern interpretation given by the owners makes it something out of the ordinary or travellers seeking a break away from the larger generic five-star hotel chains..

It was hard to find anything to dislike. Indeed, try as we did there was nothing that we found got up our noses. it's pleasing when you comer across a hotel that doesn't have you crriticising something..

Great, funky hotel in a nice location

The Hotel de Brett is a funky, cozy hotell that is well situated in Auckland, close to the water. The interior is fabulous, the restaurant and bar inviting. The rooms are sizeable and comfortable. We liked the beds and the bathrooms a lot. Staff were friendly and helpful. We had breakfast in the hotell which was very nice (albeit not cheap).

A special getaway in a charming boutique hotel

Charming classic, but with all mod cons. Long casement windows etc. Near to a range of shops including menswear and Unity books. Also close to cafes in Vulcan Lane and to waterfront and ferries. Staff friendly.

Great location, cool vibe, super comfy boutique experience

Lovely little boutique hotel in gorgeous historic building with cool decor upgrade right near the cool little alleyways, Albert Park and just off the main CBD drag. We were upgraded to a boutique suite which was extra cute - lovely big bath, sliding door between bedroom and little sitting room. The restaurant and bar are a standout - great food, service and a friendly vibe just a wander down the hall.

The best in Auckland for sure..

Small, but not too small. Really doing there best to make you feel happy (swapped my room cause it was a bit noisy, even got an upgrade). Best feature: the people that work there. Feels like home!

Very central position, very good breakfast and cordial and super gentle staff

Our room had no natural light, completely. Despite super sunny outside, our room looked like a tomb. Also very uncomfortable mattress

Loved everything! Outstanding reception staff, beautiful room comfortable bed had the most incredible sleep, room was quiet, loved the floor heating, separate toilet & separate shower in bathroom

Wardrobe a bit annoying couldn’t open draw properly because door handle in way, doors were weird to open but all the positives far outweighed this

Easy access into CBD

Decor.lots of extra features such as tivoli bedside radio .completely silent from street traffic noise.

Wonderful central place with an unique style

Super central location, everything is there! Sky tower, gardens, pubs, restaurants, everything is in a very short distance. The staff is super nice, super polite and very interested in your needs! Very nice art deco decor, a great piece of history holds this hotel behind so overall a very good stay. Very good breakfast and lovely people who work at the restaurant!

The windows do not open at all, they are sealed and there is a perfume which the cleaners use for the carpets or the room perfume that doesn’t do any good and we didn’t like that we couldn’t open one window for some fresh air. I understand the idea is not to have noise but the option of just sealing all the windows seems a little drastic . At least one in the bathroom would be good.

So welcoming, lovely staff, amazing chorizo

Arrived exhausted 9 hours too early for check in after a 24 hour flight in the hopes we could leave our luggage until 3pm. The kindly manager found us an available room and allowed us to check in early. The suite was so welcoming and I enjoyed a hot bath and was able to unwind. What a great start to the holiday!

I enjoyed the breakfast so much that first morning, particularly the chorizo that it was disappointing that the kitchen was closed the following morning due to works being carried out to improve the dining experience.
