Very impersonal. You cannot contact the hotel after 9pm

We had no communication with the hotel staff as everything was automated.

Very impersonal. We booked this hotel because we were traveling with our van and it had private parking, however we arrived a few minutes after 9pm and everything was closed and no access to the parking was available. Also, nobody answered our phone calls or messages. We had to drive around the city trying to find a safe location to leave our van with all our belongings.

So bad, I couldn't stay.

LOCATION: I booked this hotel as it indicated that it had parking, but once you booked you get an email saying, the hotel is located in the old centre and there are only few parking places near the hotel, then they list a number of places where you can park, such as public parking alongside the river, or any public parking space outside of the old center. As I was moving with a van I wouldn't use those possibilities out of lack of security and I decided to look for a hotel elsewhere. I think it is scandalous to try to lure clients by saying that you have parking space, but in fact you haven't. I cannot imagine that booking.com allows these kind of practices.

Perfect

The room was small but perfect. I large desk, 1 large cupboard, 1 large bed king 2 bedside tables. Coffee and tea tray. Three lamps in the right places, Tiny balcony. with table and two chairs overlooking the square. Small bathroom with big shower = perfect. Breakfast not fancy but everything we needed. Restaurants of every kind within seconds and many many more overflowing in the streets,, terraces packed with people. I loooooved Tours and our hotel Mondial.

Dear Fellow Travelers! I've travelled for over 50 years and for the first time ever a hotel refused to refund me when they could not provide the room I had ordered. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY OUTRAGEOUS AND EVERYONE SHOULD BE VERY CAREFUL TO ENGAGE WITH HOTEL MONDIAL AND THEIR DISGRACEFUL MANAGEMENT! Arriving at the room it took just a couple of minutes to understand that the toilet was not working. We then politely asked for another room with balcony, which the hotel could not offer. They then offered a (1) free breakfast to take another room (without balcony) for our 2 day stay which we kindly rejected since we did not order breakfast and were not interested in breakfast since we like to eat out on the town we visit, nor were we interested in a room without balcony since we always only want with balcony on multiday visits and WE HAD PAID for the room with a balcony. The manager who had already refused to talk to us directly and only allowed the guy in the reception to talk to him, then just hung up. We forced the poor guy in the reception to call him again, but once more he just refused to talk to us and neither did he offer any more reasonable compensation, and hung up again. After this we have tried for months to get our money back or, again, have a more reasonable compensation than a breakfast we did not want or a room we did not want, but nothing. Just keeping the full 240EUR we had pre-paid in good faith despite not having provided any service (needless to say we did not want to stay a single minute more than necessary after such disgraceful behaviour from the hotel's manager). I have requested Booking to blacklist this hotel and will now take legal actions since this is the only option left to us.

We were warned of stairs but to the top floor , where we were (room no. 30) it was a climb of more than 70 stairs !!! Very noisy throughout the night out in the town, I think due to students first weekend back to college. Thanks for the earplugs !!! To boil the kettle- plug inaccessible unless you put the whole kettle unit on the floor not very health and safety !

You can’t sleep in this hotel

We were there on a sunday, our room was above a nightclub. The nightclub closed at 6 am and till that time a lot of people standing out side of the nightclub talking loud, smoking and laughing. We didn’t sleep all night. There are earplugs in the room and you going to need them.

Simple, fast, and easy.

The location was very central, parking was easy, the staff we very nice, and the room had everything we needed.

The bathroom wasn't as clean as it could have been, although, I genuinely believe this was an oversight and not a lack of interest in cleaning properly. Just would have been good to take a last look before deeming the room clean. Also, the hotel is quite noisy when others are moving around, but that's to be expected in an older building.

We had a pleasant 2 night stay at the Mondial.

The young lady at the reception (the only member of the staff we met) was always exceptionally friendly, helpful and made everyone feel welcome with here positive attitude. With a bit of luck, you have free parking every night just in front of the hotel. The location is good. Everything is just a short walk away.

Even though the windows close well and the street has no traffic, you hear quite a lot of people testing the motors of their cars or just spend time shouting at each other until late at night.

Excessive noise levels all night into the early hours due to the popularity of the place de resistance as a location for socialising and the hotel is next door to a nightclub. Also disappointing to have a reception area on the second floor for arrivals.

Our stay at the Mondial

Lovely room in the center of town. Good parking just outside. It was clean and confortable. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. We didnt have breakfast but the dining room looked lovely. We were given complimentary coffee before we left which was very nice and friendly.

Our room felt quite chilly, the corridors and communal areas were warm. Could not turn radiator on. Alot of noise from the club beneath.

I booked the hotel because it stated it had onside parking however when I arrived it turned out their parking was full and I needed to book! Had to drive to an underground carpark 15 minutes walk away.

Great one night stop by old Town in Tours

Excellent location for old town and river. Many restaurants and bars very close. Friendly staff. Clean and fresh room.

We knew it was a small attic room but one side of bed was right under the eaves so had to bend to get by. Only issue was the chords from the velux blinds were hanging down and could have been dangerous when getting out of the bed and crossing the room.
