Hôtel L'ile Du Saussay

We loved this property! Air con was lovely, didn’t quite reach the second floor where the bed was so downstairs was very cold when it was on whilst the bedroom was warm but it wasn’t too bad. When we arrived we were greeted by two cats who were super friendly and some lovely little birds. Our room also overlooked the water which was full of some VERY noisy frogs, we personally loved this, however they did croak until late into the evening and we could hear them quite loud whilst trying to sleep, so if you’re a light sleeper be warned 😂 The balcony itself was nice, did not have a proper barrier so if you have children you must go careful so they don’t fall off or run off into the water. This wasn’t an issue for us as we had no children. We also had cygnets and goslings outside our balcony too which was lovely! Breakfast was alright. There is a restaurant next to the hotel (not part of it) however it looked very expensive and was very busy, so if you’re interested in that I would recommend looking at the prices online and booking first. We took a walk and got a takeaway instead.

We had no hot water in our room which resulted in a very cold shower. I did contact the out of hours emergency number in the evening via WhatsApp but they never read it (didn’t want to call due to language barrier and not that bad of an emergency).

Location and good restaurant next door. Good breakfast. Rooms of a good size.

Car parking area gives poor initial impression. Overall, the condition is tired. No handrail provided for staircase to upper level in rooms which prevented use of double bed on safety grounds by elderly gentleman. WC suite needs replacing - old and badly stained and worn seat
