Nice staff pub hotel food Breakfast was amazing

It was all excellent We didn’t dislike anything

Location, location, location. Also the 20% off food voucher was a nice touch. Breakfast was simple but nice.

Shower was quite small, as someone on the curvy side and with a big partner, it was less than ideal. The water pressure was also a little rubbish, but it did the job. The room was far too stuffy (temperature wise). Granted we stayed during the heatwave but no kind of precautions (such as airing the room out before check in) were made and also no fan was provided.

Perfect location to meet family staying in Branscombe, just a 15 minute drive away. The quadruple room was really spacious and had everything we needed and more. The lady who booked us in was very friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Especially as England were playing in the World Cup and the pub was really busy when we arrived.

The lady who served us our breakfast was a bit rude. We came down to breakfast in plenty of time midway between the hour slot and she had to add another setting as only 2 were on the table not the 3 needed for us (she said she was told our table was just for 2🤷🏼‍♀️) This wasn’t an issue, but she was a bit rude about my mum (who’s 80) needing to move her chair as it’ll be in the way of someone sitting behind. We hadn’t moved the chair, it was where it was when we got to the table. She then said we needed to choose quickly as she had 5 more tables that would be arriving and needed to get our order in! We’d had the breakfast menu about 1 minute and only my son had had chance to look at it (just one given, not one each). We were the first of any guests to arrive in the hour dining window so I’m not sure why we had to be rushed to choose, another 2 minutes would have been plenty. My mums full English was nice apparently (it did look okay). I couldn’t eat much of mine as the pouched eggs were so underdone I was worried to eat them and they’d been put on one slice of the toast which was so soggy that was inedible too. I did eat the other slice of toast as that hadn’t touched the eggs. My son said his omlette was a little underdone but edible.

The property is very tired and needs some TLC, on using the shower the first time the shower tray started to fill, on taking out the trap we found it to be clogged with hair !!! House keeping in the shower room especially needs to be far better. The small bed was very uncomfortable got very little sleep.
