The decor is beautiful and they have done a really good job of keeping it in line with its original look and feel with modern touches.
My room wasn’t cleaned for the entirety of my stay (3 nights). On my last day I put the door sign on and went out all morning until 1.30pm and the room still hadn’t been cleaned. When I asked about it at reception I was made to feel that it was my fault and I should have been aware they only service the room every two days. I was then told that maybe the housekeeping staff didn’t want to disturb me which is a ridiculous excuse as I had put the sign on the door. I was made to feel that they would be doing me a favour if the cleaning staff were able to pop by my room and even suggested I may have to pay an additional fee for this service. I couldn’t believe the terrible customer service and lack of cleaning as this accommodation isn’t cheap and I would have an expectation that they would at least empty the bins. Staff eventually did come at 3pm and did the bare minimum by taking rubbish and leaving some toilet roll. I stayed here with my 8 month old and I wouldn’t stay again. It’s a beautiful place but the lack of customer service and the rude, dismissive staff is its downfall.

The room was comfortable and the bathroom was up to date and modern.
Extremely low lighting the bedrooms - very hard when trying to put make up on but that's pretty standard in hotel rooms. The hotel breakfast wasn't great - very limited and not great quality. Only white bread, no rolls for example.

Rooms where big but cosy, clean and warm. Really enjoyed our stay
Wedding was on the day we were staying. British "lady" "didn't give a.... about people being asleep" her words.
Poor service at the breakfast, no plates, only bad toasting bread available, we were not allowed to make our own tea?

Only thing was the location was good.
Having paid over £430 for a two night stay, Monday-Wednesday we felt this hotel did not deliver at all for the following :
Room
Small double, dated, no wow factor for paying over 200 per night.
Only one hand towel provided.
Tea/coffee set up very basic,
Pillows extremely hard
Under the shelf in bathroom badly marked, or could even be mould (not sure)
Breakfast
Went in for breakfast at 0900, buffet
Ambients, none
Plates for hot food cold
No fried eggs, only eggs available scrambled.
All supposedly hot food Luke warm with bacon cold.
Two waiting staff on duty only interested in chatting to each other instead of offering any hospitality.
The breakfast was so disappointing we only went on the first morning.
Interesting to see that if you had not booked the breakfast the cost is only £9, guessing that is why it was not great.
The biggest disappointment and this was not mentioned on either the hotels or booking.coms web site that the room would not be serviced daily, only every other day. Having stayed in numerous hotels in the UK and oversea’s before and after the pandemic having your room serviced daily is a norm, if this was not going to be the case then it should have been on the web site, if it had we certainly would not of booked.

Everything
The heating wasn’t strong enough. Normally it should be as this is winter

The room was quiet and comfortable and the shower was nice and hot. Tea and coffee was cheap and the usual stuff you get in a premier inn, I think that for the price of the room more effort could be put into those facilities.
Overall, the room was nice though. Also better pillows would also be great.
Breakfast was terrible. The coffee was like mud and the hot buffet wasn't great. Again, it felt like I was eating food from the premier inn. I just think that if you are charging a lot of money for a room that includes breakfast, then just go the extra mile and use good quality produce. The staff were nice and the dining room was comfortable but the breakfast let it down. I have eaten there before and the breakfast was delicious so it was disappointing this time.

Beautiful Hotel
Very clean and comfortable
Friendly staff
Great location
Our Room was lovely but the air conditioning and heating system were outside our room and a little noisy throughout the night.

Great location for old town restaurants and walking distance to event location nearby. Quality of hotel decor and overall ambience was very comfortable. Although it was party night, our room was quietly situated. Staff were welcoming and courteous. Free parking (limited) was available.
We arrived on a festive party night. There was nowhere to sit in the small hotel bar and we were quickly aware of children jumping on the sofas and chairs, and uncleared tables. Maybe not enough staff to manage the environment for all types of guests.

We arrived late and whilst the bar was still open the aera was being prepared for breakfast in the morning and we felt that we were in the way.
We stayed for two nights but our room was not cleaned or the bed made up for the second night. Not very good for a hotel wanting a good reputation.

Check in was easy. Room was large and spacious, on the ground floor with a patio door opening to the car park at the rear which was useful. Bed was comfortable and tea and coffee provided. Clean and tidy.
Room was quite cold, even with the radiator on, the hotel had provided 2 electric heaters in the room. They would certainly be needed if the weather gets really cold! The patio door did not lock with the key from the outside, so it was not possible to leave the room this way to the car park. I mentioned it to the staff member who made a note for maintenance.

Great rooms, fab location.
Parking was a nightmare….. we arrived for breakfast only to be told by the member of staff on duty to essentially hurry up and order as they needed to set up for lunch… (we weren’t late and they could’ve focussed on all the other tables in the restaurant) Breakfast was good though and overall would stay again. Reception staff really helpful and friendly.

Love the beds
Noise from drunken revellers in the street
3.0 / 10.0
The front of the hotel towards the street looks good.
All the rooms to the back of the hotel overlook an ugly parking. Except for the entrance building the hotel seems to be a 1960/70s pretty ugly extension. The decor in the hotel looks like a mess of different times, consistency is lacking.

The decor was interesting and eclectic, which made our stay an interesting experience.
The food in the restaurant was good, and there was a great variety of choices.
The wedding party that was in residence was quite noisy, and that could put a lot of people off. However, what impressed us was that the noise stopped right on midnight.
One of our party, however, experienced a television in an adjoining room with the volume turned up beyond what is necessary.

Good location, easy parking, good sized room
It was incredibly hot in the room. One small fan provided but even in the corridors and other areas, it was really hot

We have stayed numerous times over the last two years and I like the hotel usually
We were put in a room in the older part which had no air con in a heatwave. The window only opened a couple of inches. And the bathroom which was even hotter had a window but that didn’t open at all. The fan was extremely noisy - so we had very little sleep. We asked for the window to be unlocked to help but was told it was health and safety- however we walked through the car park and we saw numerous windows wide open- to help with the heat. Very unhelpful- we could have signed a disclaimer ?
