The comfortable bed was the highlight of the stay
When calling the hotel asking if it was possible to arrive for an early 1pm check-in, the reception staff was very vague with the info, but we took the chance and arrived early.
Upon arrival no one greeted us, we had to approach a very uninterested team of 3 and somewhat rude staff members, explaining our wish to check in at an earlier time. We were told there was no rooms available and 'we would be informed when a room becomes available". We even had to ask where we should sit and wait. At this stage I just knew that this gentleman wasn't to be trusted. As it turns out I realised he was at the end of his shift and simply could't wait to leave. We waited for over an hour. I then approached the new reception staff and immediately got given a room. The new reception staff member confirmed that previous info was incorrectly dealt with. Sadly I cannot remember the kind and professional staff member as he is the one that is worthy of 10 stars.
The hotel is advertising the state of the art gym and excellent facilities. It's the most depressing gym I've ever visited! Breakfast wasn't even offered. So we decided to eat elsewhere in the morning. The carpet in the room was dirty and dusty!

The staff were very helpful on arrival as it was our first stay. The room was clean, the shower was powerful and the bed was really comfortable.
No option for decaffeinated hot drinks in the room.

We booked this hotel for a stop over after a trip to Cadbury's World and before heading onwards with our journey to Cornwall. The sports bar was perfect for us to watch our team on Sky, and the pool was a lovely treat the next stay. The staff were all friendly and helpful, particularly in the bar and the pool. Room comfy and very big, all great value for money.

Hotel was generally very good as most village hotels are, good location, good facilities, nice bar area with sports.
Room wasn’t up to usual village hotel standards.
Carpet wasn’t full hoovered and cleaned, dirty glasses in room, toilet roll not full replenished, only one set of bathroom towels (room was booked for two people), I requested extra towels cos the QR code, but I still had to go down to reception twice to request within the space of 3 hours. Staff seemed slow to replenish coffee machine and juices.

The location next to the motorway
My battery was filthy, has in the sink and bath. Bathroom was just not cleaned properly. Brown water in the toilet. Making noise on the corridor into the early hours. I booked a late checkout. This was pointless because from 8 am in the morning children was using the third floor corridor as a running track. Parents know where to be seen. Complain to reception. However, this continues to happen.

The mess up , yet again , of the booking causing us to have to move rooms because they gave away our room We had booked and paid for and putting us in a family room where my disabled partner could not have a shower as he could not get into the bath
They said we could use the gym but that was closed
With both of us disabled it was real hassle miving rooms
On our last night we went to get into our room which was locked
They hadnot added the extra night and had no rooms available
We had to move again to another hotel
We were so fed up
We will not be staying with you again as its not the first time this has happened
When we were charged £9 for a small cone of chips extra with our meal we were disgusted
4.0 / 10.0
The beds were very comfy so had a good nights sleep, which made up for the rest of the negative experience, but overall very disappointed
I upgraded to have a room with a coffee machine, however, the hotel does not supply decaf coffee, so this was pointless for a person that cannot drink caffeine. I didn't like the automated check in/out as I expected a traditional reception.
Breakfast is not of a high quality for a hotel and the whole experience is comparable with some of the lodge type competitors, so I will not be staying again. I did not find this value for money.

It was difficult to say what was there to like to be honest
Literally everything - its a terrible place to stay. The place is unclean, and smells

Leisure facilities were good, food & bar was also good. Very nice bar man, although working with a very rude bar woman who was rude to several customers. Room was clean
Bathroom was grubby and needs make over, no tissues in the tissue box, stains around sink and generally looking very worn.
Early checking was running slightly behind on check in but was rectified with a kind gesture of no early check in fee. There was then an invoice for the £15 under our door, spoke to reception on check out who’s attitude was poor given the issue. She informed us that the £15 fee should not have been removed (we did not ask for this it was offered) and it was due to having a room upgrade. The room was what was booked and already paid for, the receptionist’s attitude to this was very dismissive and told us she would need to speak to the other member of staff regarding this - not our issue and we did not need the information.

Very impressive on arrival looks very grand plush nicely carpeted has a ramp access as the hotel is sitting on higher grounds nice and big lobby area with Bar Starbucks inside nice big swimming pool area with Jacuzzi et cetera function rooms amazing staff were brilliant. Nothing was too much problem for them very very lovely. I love the little touch cheers when we go upstairs to our room. There was a big card which looked like a newspaper article telling you all about the hotel facilities and the times of food, et cetera. Parking charges were also reasonable.
I just think that the hotel room itself was very worn down, but they had four of like little touches just really worn down but I do remember the beds were nice and lush looking and clean

Rooom was comfortable and clean
Bed was huge and comforable
Dinner - food was fine, staff were ok
Reception - booking in and out - staff were great and helpful
Service at dinner was unhelpful and different charges for the same items were given

Room was clean and staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast had a decent spread but the overall quality was quite ordinary.
Breakfast quality of food could be better. The room was also over looking the front entrance and the noise levels of people / traffic outside was quite high at times.

The atmosphere
The price of accommodation £167.00 per night for a basic family room was a complete rip-off. The cost of food was exorbitant for what was basically snacks. £8 for a handful of fries can not be justified, £22 for a plate of Natchos.

The staff were all really friendly and helpful, good gym and good location for where I wanted to be.
The room was in need of decorating, and there was a smell of mould in the bathroom.

The Starbucks
We travelled for a family event held here, out of 60 of us 4 were told they could not stay in the rooms they had booked and paid for 6 months previously. They arrived 3 hours before check in, and told to come back for their key at 3pm eventually they were told at 6pm there were no rooms for them. Later that day I saw a young lady turned away around 9pm with nowhere to stay - she had booked ahead too. It seems it's regular practice of this hotel to over book rooms!

The location was perfect .
Boiling hot room, we had to get up to open the window to allow air in.
Bathroom wasn't that clean.
Stains on the bedding.
1 bath towell for the 2 of us.
Stayed in the restaurant for food in the evening 8pm - there was a croissant on the window still from breakfast.
Member of staff told us breakfast was served until 10am we arrived at 8.50am only to be told breakfast had finished so we didn't have food.

The bar/ restaurant staff were appalling . Zero customer service. Slow, uninterested in serving customers and the guy on breakfast was totally rude and unprofessional. Dirty tables everywhere, no cutlery, he almost took the kitchen door off in temper. Obviously hates his job!
