Quite a pleasant weekend stay, but we had expected somewhat better from the price we paid.

Evening meals were very good. Staff were pleasant and friendly. Breakfast was OK, all self-service but rather limited choice and warmth of the 'hot' food.

We booked a wheelchair accessible double room, and were 'upgraded' to a suite. This was OK but was situated a long way from the hotel entrance, a long wheelchair journey from reception, and two floors up in a lift. A room closer to the hotel entrance would have been much more convenient. The suite had a large and accessible bathroom but the toilet was separately situated and not easily accessible by wheelchair !

OKay, but room for a few improvements

exactly what I expected

Television did not work most of the time on most of the channels. Poor connectivity issues every day . Also the dinning hall could not really cope, they were unable to accommodate bookings for people at peak hours for evening meals on both nights. Also the housekeeper knocked on my door at 9.25 am on my day of departure to clean my room, even though I had the room until 11am and had clearly not 'checked out' had she talked to hotel reception.. I was still getting up !! It made me feel rushed. Cost of parking at hotel at £20 per night is excessive . its £9 across the road in the NCP

A fun stay in Blackpool

The bedroom was warm, comfortable, and spacious, with quality fittings and linen, with a good view of the fun park. The staff were professional, helpful, and friendly. The breakfast was lovely.

The breakfast area was badly set out and appeared to be ill-managed. We were there for 2 days and although we pre-booked our breakfast time slot and table, we still had to queue for over 10 minutes on both days. On the second day the queue was backed up to the reception area and people were leaving without their breakfast

I loved how the hotel has been refurbished. The quality of the decor is exceptional. The family rooms were well thought out to provide space for the children. The deluxe double room was more of a suite. My family felt safe.

Good Stay At The Big Blue!

We got an upgraded room (junior suite instead of a deluxe double). One of the nicest, well equipped rooms we have ever stayed in.

Service in the restaurant was not that good. Buffet breakfast was OK but expected a bit more choice.

The room was a good size with all the normal amenities you would expect. Location was good to visit Blackpool, only a short walk to a tram stop

Thought the cost of parking was excessive £20 for one night. Hotel opposite was £10 per day and FREE for residents. Found this out too late or would have parked there instead.

breakfast choice for vegans/ vegetarians very poor. no breakfast buffet choice out for vegetarians. usually other hotels display a choice for breakfast for non meat eaters and meat eaters but with the big blue hotel you have to ask for a cooked vegetarian alternative. milk and coffee not topped up in the room.

Ideal hotel for visiting Blackpool with kids.

Location and great for kids (grandchildren in our case). Right by the Pleasure beach station and near a tram stop so no need for a car. Great kids rooms with bunks and TVs.

Nice hotel, near pleasure beach

Booked 3 rooms, on arrival 2 were available earlier than advised. The twin room had a wet stain on carpet like a pet urine smell. We advised reception who quickly had the carpet cleaned when we were out. It seemed ok when we came back.

The breakfast was good. Stuart the manager was the only decent member of staff we encountered.

Poor welcoming from staff, hotel is generally grubby. There was phlegm that someone had left in the lift. Bits of rubbish in the corridors. For £175 per night I expected this place to meet at least the minimum expectations of a 4 star hotel. We were woken up in the night by screaming children running from one room to another slamming doors and running the corridors. When we called to complain they had already been made aware and the night manager was on his way to address the situation. We heard the conversation between the night manager and one of the children’s mother. It was a pathetic attempt to address the issue on behalf of the night manager. The families clearly did not listen to him as the very loud noise continued. I had to speak to them myself. Unfortunately there are just some people who are so selfish and ignorant it isn’t worth engaging with their only brain cell! Unfortunately this place seems to attract people who think it’s acceptable to do the weekly shop in their PJ’s. I’m no snob but at that price point I would expect a certain level of class, you will not find that here!

Very pleasant aprt from the problems written above

Breakfast was good apart from no decaff coffee on offer and no mushrooms Location a bit out of the way for other parts of Blackpool but good for pleasure beach, as long as you go before the south gates close ?! Otherwise you've got a long walk to the entrance at Balmoral rd

I didn't like the fact the generator that was right next to our room was noisy and kept going until the early hours ...and housekeeping didn't appear a couple of times and we had to go get the towels, supplies ourselves we didn't even ask for no housekeeping, on those occasions and the day we did ask for no housekeeping we didn't get reimbursement, also the night before I phoned reception to ask for no housekeeping as per the card in the room to tell us to call before 2am reception said oh I can't organise that phone reception in the morning , but I decided it wasn't worth the hassle

Awful felt very victimised due to my disabilities

We have been coming to the hotel multiple times a year and love everything about it

This year I arrived as usual with my small mobility scooter which I depend on to keep my independence and was refused entry and told I had to leave it outside as they no longer let them in due to the battery They have no wheelchair to help anyone. Sadly we will not be able to return so as a warning to everyone else so needs help to move around don’t stay here the management were very unhelpful and didn’t care
