“A beautifully located hotel with a charming ambience and enjoyable spa, but sadly let down by poor

Location, Convenience, Ambience & Spa section. At the foot of the historical centre Hotel Sirmione is perfectly positioned. Overall the hotel has a nice classical feel about it with a great outlook and outside space. The spa experience was interesting and was enjoyable.

We reserved three rooms, but check-in was stressful and confusing. One of the rooms was not ready and was unsuitable for the intended occupants, so it had to be changed. Although we were grateful for the eventual upgrade, the whole process was not a calm or welcoming experience. Later, I arrived at the bar ahead of my colleagues, but waited over half an hour for a single drink to arrive. Only after raising a complaint did two bottles arrive more promptly, by which time my companions had joined me. Taking our drinks into the dining room (which was full), we quickly realised there were far too few staff to serve the number of guests. After sitting for half an hour without being attended to, we left. Others around us were visibly frustrated at the incredibly slow service.This proved to be the right decision, as the nearby restaurant we visited instead offered outstanding food and attentive service – a complete contrast to what might have been if we had stayed. At check-out I explained our experience to the receptionist, who relayed the matter to the Manager. However, no apology or gesture was forthcoming. Whether due to a language barrier or the impression that my complaint was not considered serious, the lack of acknowledgment left us feeling unimportant as paying customers. This was a real shame, as Hotel Sirmione SPA had been intended as the crowning evening of an otherwise successful Italian trip. Unfortunately, the service fell well short of expectation and did not live up to the value of the booking. Regrettably, this has not encouraged us to consider rebooking next year.

Fantastic location and the room was spacious (with balcony). Pool area was great and staff were all lovely.

Breakfast was fine but a little lacklustre. Additional items (eg omelette) were available but at an extra charge which isn’t usual for a 4* hotel like this.

Not much. All experiences were mostly adequate but rooms and approach were in the less smart annexe of the hotel and the pool arrangements and access were very unsuitable and lacked drinks/refreshments service.

Fantastic hotel in the best location

The location of the hotel cannot be beaten, 100m to the castle, and also right next to the ferry pick up/drop off The breakfast was lovely, good selection and always being replenished. There is also “extra” payable options such as omelette that can be ordered The pool is just a good size and all day use of the spa facilities which was a nice option The staff in the restaurant/bar area are lovely, special shout out to Marco, Elvis and Sandra who were always so happy to help and smiley The seating area at the pier is lovely to watch the ferry’s and the sunset

There is a particularly strong smell of ? Sulphur in the spa building, however you do get used to this but it can be quite strong throughout the day We opted to upgrade to a balcony room, however at our balcony was a large tree which left us with no view and unfortunately meant we did not use the balcony as we had hoped, I would advise asking to see the room before paying if you choose to upgrade

Great ourdoor facilities but not dinner

- The outdoor facilities were amazing! - Great breakfast - Friendly front office

- The balcony in the double rooms were so small that I would call them juliette, not an actual balcony. Very dirty balconies. - Very poorly soundproofed. - Food in restaurant (dinner) was not good at all. No refund (except for the drinks, that we actually liked). Really bad customer service.. Not one in our family had eaten up but they said that a refund was not possible.

The breakfast had a good variety of food but hot food was lukewarm at best. Even the prepared eggs Benedict was served cold (2 days running) Hot plates would have been helpful ! The cheeses, meats and pastries were good but a bit repetitive over the course of a week. Staff were very helpful.

Beautiful location for a hotel with a classic feel

The hotel is situated beside the ferry landing and is very accessible. The spa facilities are a real bonus. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The view of sunset from the terrace is stunning. The breakfast has a decent choice available.

A warm and friendly welcome in a beautiful setting in an ideal location.

The Hotel was excellent in so many ways with a few minor criticisms. The location is perfect and the outside bar/terrace is excellent for watching the world go by with an Aperol Spritz or two ! The staff are extremely warm and friendly and really helpful when needed. The rooms are very spacious and the cleanliness was 10/10. Clean towels every day. Separate towels for the spa too. Our room was slightly on the dark side as we were behind the beautiful pine tree however the side view made up for this, watching the boats come and go. A kettle or coffee maker in the room would have been the finishing touch in the room rather than have to wait to go down to breakfast. Breakfast selection was very good. Fresh and plenty to choose from. The spa was handy although the sulphur smell is a little off putting if you are located in that side of the hotel. Reservation of the spa beds is a mystery as most beds were booked but remained empty for most of the day ?? However the outside terrace sunbeds are not booked and provide a lovely location to relax and enjoy the sunshine. The location of the hotel is perfect to explore Sirmione's little alleys and hidden restaurants. So many to choose from. Walking distance to all of these. The Hotel is also next to the ferry pier so really handy to hop on a ferry to Garda, Bardolino and others towns around the lake too. We would definitely stay here again as there is so much more to see and do, with a friendly Hotel to welcome you back.

Never received the QR code per mail needed for the parking going in (even after 2nd follow up request to send us one). Night receptionist told me I did not need the code to drive out of the parking but it turned out I did need it. This created a lot of unnecessary hassle and irritation.

The smelliest and worst hotel!(

The worst hotel experience in 10 years of traveling. The hotel has two buildings, and one of them smells terrible from the entrance to the elevator and the rooms. The reception, of course, is in the other building. So after check-in, you end up in the stinky building, and they offer to change your room only for a hefty extra charge. Terrible and the most unfriendly staff who couldn't care less about your problems.

The stench is so bad that you start to get a headache and feel nauseous after 3 minutes. It's impossible to stay in these conditions. They refused to cancel our reservation even though my husband suffers from migraines and we can't stay in such conditions. The administrator spoke rudely and behaved arrogantly. I do not recommend this terrible hotel to anyone! Run away from them and don't pay a cent.

Perfect location with stunning views of the lake. Lovely outside setting for drinks, restaurant and breakfast. Staff in bar and restaurant were friendly and polite. Single bedroom was modern and clean. Sunlounger, patio set and umberella provided on the balcony.

Comfortable stay - conveniently located to the main sights

Excellent location, right next to the Castello. I have stayed in this area before - pre-COVID - and loved it, but was surprised by the crowds of people who walk around this part of Sirmione rather than spreading up into the parks and beach areas. As a result (not the fault of the hotel), the location - while convenient - did not feel restful.

As per my note above (not the hotel's fault) the crowds in Sirmione that hang around the Castello were surprisingly large - even by Venetian standards! As a result the location, while convenient, was not as restful as I'd hoped.

the a/c is off and it got a little warm at night. the balcony needs to have bar type chairs so you can see over the walls.
