Hôtel Golf Château de Chailly

The building is absolutely stunning. It has such a charm and peaceful feeling. The pool area was decent and certainly needed with this heat. The food in the restaurant was mostly tasty and the sommelier was so informative and interesting to learn from. The bar area was warm and had a welcoming feel and the breakfast was varied with a good amount of choice. The room was a classic but loved the feel and the design - very much in keeping with a coach house (we were not in the main building). The AC was also perfect for us.

The hotel asked us to make a booking for the restaurant via a number or through messenger on booking - we did our request this way. When we arrived at the hotel we were informed the restaurant was full - so I would definitely call them. We also asked about spa booking via message - again - nothing came back. We went out for the day and returned around 3pm - our room was only just being cleaned. Awkward wait while they finished and we wanted the toilet, shower and some peace to refresh. Finally, the beef in the restaurant was not good - chef was very helpful and came to a solution but on a tasting menu the main protein was a real let down. Certainly 4 star and worth it for the deal we got but I would be upset if paid full price. We informed hotel staff today at check out of all the above but no real interest or apology - just Merci beacoup.

Lack of milk in the rooms …limited choice of evening meal & overpriced wine

Nice room and nice terrace - proximity to the golf course - the staff at the golf course was super nice also we liked very much the food truck (good food and good value for money)

At the main hotel restaurant we went for dinner and were disappointed by the fact that the food was not warm enough. Also we had to claim for more soaps for our shower in our room and we recommended to move to no single-use soap bottles. Directions to the Chateau could be better signed on the road and the GPS leads to a wrong entrance.

The hotel doesn't offer room service. The bar shuts by 10 30 pm. The room phones do not work. The AC in the room is only on one side so if you book a suite the other side doesn't have any air, given it is peak summer and the heat wave is ongoing. We had to request for portable fans. The hotel is quite old and the pricing is not justified given there are very limited amenities. They are quite short staffed as well. The breakfast was decent not great, given that this property is in the middle of nowhere. They surely need to have more food options.
