Oceania Hôtel d'Anjou Angers

An old hotel, conveniently located next to the "blue line" pedestrian tourist route for all the main sights in Angers. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was good, served in the lovely Art Deco restaurant. Angers is an vibrant old city, with winding streets, an imposing cathedral and a large castle which is well worth a visit. This houses the remarkable late 14th century Apocalypse Tapestry, easily on a par with the more famous Bayeux, but without the crowds!

There has been a lot of refurbishment in this hotel, but unfortunately this had not reached our bathroom, which was rather tired and old fashioned. In particular, the temperamental shower above the bath had no thermostatic control - this is not acceptable by today's standards.

Staff were particularly helpful and friendly, most specifically Maximillian. Beautiful art deco restaurant of great note.

Room a little small, but very comfortable nevertheless

Very comfortable, stylish hotel. Very nice big room with comfy bed and good bathroom. Lovely helpful staff.

Location on a busy street. It wasn’t noisy though.

The staff were helpful and very pleasant. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were good. They have private parking, underground, just down the road from the Hotel. The old town is a five minute walk away.

It sits on a main road opposite McDonalds!! However, compared to others it has by far the better Interior and facilities.
