Grand Hotel, Spectacular Location..But No Internet!

BW Bellevue is a grand hotel, beautifully located right at the lake with stunning views of the lake and across to Monte Bre the main mountain of Lugano. We had 4 nights. Liked the location away a bit from the Lugano centre, and used the Paradiso train station and local buses to get around (used the Ticino transport card given to us by the hotel, such a great way to get visitors visiting the various sights). We walked from the Paradiso train station to the hotel (down the hill and turn left). Our room was lovely, spacious, great bed, pretty bedding, modern bathroom, and 2 balconies with outdoor table and chairs. The breakfast room was very grand too, enjoyed our breakfasts each morning.

Our main issue was that the internet didn't work well, and for 2 days there was no internet at all. This is surprising in a Best Western Hotel and in Switzerland! Our train from Lugano had perfect internet for the 3 hours we were travelling. Our room was on the 1st floor, so while the view was spectacular, we think we would prefer a higher floor if we were to stay again. We wanted a junior suite so maybe the upper floors don't have them. Looks like there are rooms up to the 5th floor.

Good breakfast Parking for my car/van with 1,95 m height not possible in the hotel parking but received an outside safe parking spot

Furniture/design is somewhat dated and decor a bit quirky. Having said this, it gives the house a character many others miss due to being in brand uniform. A few sockets or even USB ports at the bedside would be appreciated.

Wir waren bereits das zweite Mal in diesem Hotel. Die Mitarbeiter an der Reception waren sehr zuvorkommend und wir haben uns willkommen gefühlt. Auch die anderen Mitarbeiter waren freundlich. Unser Zimmer war gross, hell und sauber, mit seitlichem Seeblick und kleinem Balkon. Das Frühstücksbuffet war sehr fein. Es gab verschiedene Brote, Aufschnitt, Käse, warme Speisen wie Speck und Rührei, Honig, verschiedene Konfitüren, Säfte, Kaffee, Tee etc. Es war alles schön angerichtet und für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei. Wir hatten einen tollen Aufenthalt.

Kamer was niet zoals op de foto erg kleine badkamer. Badkamer was niet helemaal super schoon. Legen haren op de grond en op het krukje. Weinig ophang mogelijkheden. Ontbijt werd in een soort overkapping geserveerd op tuin stoelen deed wel afbreuk aan de geheel. Er werd een aan naast gelegen hotel gebouwd wat wat overlast gaf. Prijs kwaliteit niet helemaal in verhouding.

Нас просто обманули, пытались заселить в подвал с вонючки мусором, при стоимости почти 1 тыс евро за ночь.

Мы забронировали проживание с 14-18 августа 2025 года, выбрали этот отель из-за высокой 9,3 оценки на Booking.com. Приехали мы в полночь уже 15 августа, очень уставшие после перелета и экскурсии. Сотрудник ресепшен провел нас в номер, который располагался в подвале здания. После того как мы зашли в номер в нос ударил очень неприятный запах, я поспешила открыть окна, каково было моё удивление когда я обнаружила за окном множество мешков с мусором, который не вывозили наверное неделю, удачный запах исходил от него. Я попросила поселить нас в другой номер, сказав что в этом мы не останемся., на что сотрудник отеля ответил отказом , сказав что отель полностью забронирован. Я проверила его слова на сайте Booking.com, , там было как минимум 2 свободных номера, но нас в них не заселили . Мы уехали ночью измученные искать другой отель. Это было действительно ужасно, такой опыт я не пожелаю пережить никому. Мы обратились сразу в службу поддержки Booking.com с просьбой вернуть нам деньги оплаченные за проживание , это 3 тыс евро за 4 ночи, в настоящее время денежные средства нам не возвращены, хотя мы не жили в этом отеле ни минуты .

Gute Preis - Leistung für ein sauberes Zimmer in einem sehr freundlichen Hotel

Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und die Facilities ansprechend. Auf Wünsche wird eingegangen und man fühlt sich als Gast gewertschätzt. Das Frühstück ist abwechslungsreich. Parkplätze sind günstiger als andere Hotels und wir hatten vor dem Hotel direkt eins, das war super. Seesicht ist wunderschön.

Pool Area dürfte etwas einladender gestaltet sein. Der Kaffee beim Frühstück schmeckte etwas verbrannt und die Maschine müsste öfters gereinigt werden (Kaffee floss nicht gut heraus). Die Balkone sind etwas schmal um zu zweit Draussen zu sitzen.

Strange experience - superb located building with back in time interiors & staff.

Location, location, location. Splendid, overlooking the lake.

Generally - superb cover with the average inside. Splendid location facing the lake, nice reception hall and glamorous staircase. The rest in "back in 80ties" - functional but bland and rather so so looking rooms. Hotel needs proper refurbishing, new interiors and general upgrade. Also the unatractive & unappealing staff looks & behaves like they don't like their job. Evening restaurant full of corporate looking parties.

Extrem aufmerksames und freundliches Personal in allen Bereichen. Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit Balkon und einem fantastischen Blick auf den See.

Es benötigte immer eine Begleitung um in die Tiefgarage zum Auto zu kommen. Das Duschen in einer Badewanne ist nicht mehr zeitgemäß und für ältere Menschen auch gefährlich.

Je ne sais pas si c’est parce que j’avais réservé via booking.com mais j’ai hérité d’une chambre au fin fond d’un corner prise en sandwich entre l’énorme chantier sur lequel le bacon donnait et la salle de conférence de l’autre côté. Donc en musique d’ambiance, j’ai eu droit dès 8h00 du matin au marteau-piqueur et les rires de dinde en provenance de la salle de réunion ! Le confort de la chambre était plus que sommaire et daté de la fin des années 80.

We got a room with an amazing view and the staff were super friendly, I forgot my toothbrush and was able to get one from the reception. The location was perfect for hiking to San Salvatore or to visit the Lido, and we also got the free public transport card

Wir werden dieses Hotel bei einem nächsten Besuch nicht mehr berücksichtigen.

Wir haben das Zimmer und die Hoteleinrichtung quasi nur zur Übernachtung benötigt. Die Hauptmahlzeiten haben wir extern eingenommen. Wie bereits beurteilt, war das Zimmer in Ordnung. Grosses Bad. Wasserkocher und Kaffee/Tee vorhanden. Frühstücksangebot war erfreulich.

Das Zimmer war zur Seite eines grossen Gebäudes gerichtet. Es wies einen kleinen Balkon mit zwei Stühlen auf (Tischchen fehlte). Nur wenig Sicht auf den See. Das Frühstück wurde in der Verglasung mit Kunststoffdach (unansehnlich mit vielen Flickstellen) bereitgestellt. Da die Temperaturen während unserem Aufenthalt aufgrund der Wetterlage nicht angenehm waren, empfanden wir den Aufenthalt im Frühstücksraum unangenehm kühl. Wir benötigten eine leichte Jacke. Das Personal war nicht unbedingt sehr aufmerksam, da es nicht feststellte, dass beim Wärmer von Würstchen/Speck und Rührei der Brenner nicht eingeschaltet war. Kommt zum Beispiel das lauwarme Rührei auf einen kalten Teller, ist die Mahlzeit rasch ganz kalt. Im Hotelzimmer wurden der verbrauchte Nescafé / Aufheller nicht ersetzt. Konsumiertes Mineralwasser wurde nicht ersetzt. Sparmassnahmen oder Vergesslichkeit?

Magnifique et exceptionnel

L’hôtel, le petit déjeuner, la chambre sont parfaits pour mon usage. Une vue magnifique, une chambre, incroyable avec balcon. Mais ce qui fait tout l’hôtel, c’est l’accueil. Je ne suis pas en client régulier. Mais le personnel, se souvient de moi, et est extrêmement gentil, prévenant, et serviable. En accueil pareil, et très appréciable et cela nous donne l’impression de ne jamais être parti très longtemps! Merci à eux pour ce magnifique séjour, qui sent leur accueil et leur gentillesse ne serait pas le même. J’oubliais, le petit déjeuner est juste exceptionnel .

Wenn ich in die Garage gehen, wollte, musste immer jemand mitkommen. Es Hat 6 Parkplätze vor dem Haus, aber wir durften nicht parkieren! Warum?? Am Schluss vor der Abreise wurde uns 25 Franken , pro Tag für den unzugänglichen Parkplatz verrechnet!

Really decent place for a short stay in a lovely town.

Everything was well-ordered, clean and comfortable with a great view over the lake, staff were friendly and helpful, the customer liaison representative was extremely helpful and friendly and of great assistance when planning local sightseeing and transport.

Breakfast was a bit boring though nutritious, limited exercise options, rooms somewhat spartan and plain.
