Bellevue is a lovely hotel with friendly staff. I had a room with a spacious terrace on the first floor with a beautiful view of the lake. Cross the street and you're on the boulevard that runs all the way along the lake, with a lovely park at the end. The breakfast buffet has plenty of options. There are only a few parking spaces in front of the hotel. The daily fee is high (hey, it's Switzerland), but it's very convenient. After checking out, I was allowed to leave the car for an hour to take one last walk along the lake.

The location of the hotel is perfect! We had a room overlooking the lake and the city centre is nearby. The staff was very welcoming and made sure we had all we needed!

I book this hotel already for the 2-d year while staying in Lugano. Excellent location-on a lake side, quick access to the bus station, the embankment is in front of it- y can reach the center in 5-7 min on foot. the atmosphere in the hotel is quite, no noise, the stuff is very friendly both on reception and in breakfast area, ready to assist you in any time. Breakfast is European style (enough to have it in the morning). i fully recommend it. the price level is OK for Switzerland ( for sure can be a bit less). next year will book it again.

Grand Hotel, Spectacular Location..But No Internet!

BW Bellevue is a grand hotel, beautifully located right at the lake with stunning views of the lake and across to Monte Bre the main mountain of Lugano. We had 4 nights. Liked the location away a bit from the Lugano centre, and used the Paradiso train station and local buses to get around (used the Ticino transport card given to us by the hotel, such a great way to get visitors visiting the various sights). We walked from the Paradiso train station to the hotel (down the hill and turn left). Our room was lovely, spacious, great bed, pretty bedding, modern bathroom, and 2 balconies with outdoor table and chairs. The breakfast room was very grand too, enjoyed our breakfasts each morning.

Our main issue was that the internet didn't work well, and for 2 days there was no internet at all. This is surprising in a Best Western Hotel and in Switzerland! Our train from Lugano had perfect internet for the 3 hours we were travelling. Our room was on the 1st floor, so while the view was spectacular, we think we would prefer a higher floor if we were to stay again. We wanted a junior suite so maybe the upper floors don't have them. Looks like there are rooms up to the 5th floor.

Great location and good base to explore Lugano

Good location, a bit off from the centre but in easy walking distance. Amazing view from the room/balcony. Room was spacious and tidy, very clean. Bathtub/shower combination. Excellent blinds ensure good nights sleep. Helpful and courteous staff at reception. Good breakfast Parking for my car/van with 1,95 m height not possible in the hotel parking but received an outside safe parking spot

Furniture/design is somewhat dated and decor a bit quirky. Having said this, it gives the house a character many others miss due to being in brand uniform. A few sockets or even USB ports at the bedside would be appreciated.

Strange experience - superb located building with back in time interiors & staff.

Location, location, location. Splendid, overlooking the lake.

Generally - superb cover with the average inside. Splendid location facing the lake, nice reception hall and glamorous staircase. The rest in "back in 80ties" - functional but bland and rather so so looking rooms. Hotel needs proper refurbishing, new interiors and general upgrade. Also the unatractive & unappealing staff looks & behaves like they don't like their job. Evening restaurant full of corporate looking parties.

amazing location and staff

We got a room with an amazing view and the staff were super friendly, I forgot my toothbrush and was able to get one from the reception. The location was perfect for hiking to San Salvatore or to visit the Lido, and we also got the free public transport card

Really decent place for a short stay in a lovely town.

Everything was well-ordered, clean and comfortable with a great view over the lake, staff were friendly and helpful, the customer liaison representative was extremely helpful and friendly and of great assistance when planning local sightseeing and transport.

Breakfast was a bit boring though nutritious, limited exercise options, rooms somewhat spartan and plain.

Lovely stay in Lugano

The view from our balcony onto Lake Lugano was amazing! This is a stunning hotel! Beautiful room, spacious & tastefully decorated. Spacious bathroom - with big windows for ventalation Amazing breakfast! Nice pool area. The staff were so kind, friendly & helpful. Nothing was too much to ask. The bus stop just outside of the hotel helped a lot, getting us to the Paradiso train station & back. (We didn't know this at first & arrived at Lugano station, taking bus #2 and had to walk quite a distance with our luggage to get to the hotel) Tip: Travel on to Paradiso station & take bus #1

The main street just outside is exceptionally busy and noisy - but it forms part of the Lugano vibe. The balconies are very close to 1 another. I was on the phone 1 evening, telling my family back in SA about our day and my lady-neighbour actually chirped me for talking too much - yet she and her husband had endless conversations on the balcony till late in the evening. He also smoked and that smell came into our room, so when they were outside we had to keep our doors closed.

We liked the location but the rest was not worth it for the money/value.

The property has very good location. We had a lake view, so was very cozy in the evening on the balcony.

We booked room with ONE large bed and one small couch. Instead we got two small beds which were sliding in both sides, so we could barely sleep with my husband. And the third bed was barely looking like a bed, so was also poor sleep. Please make the kind of facilities, you provide in the information and on the foto.The breakfast was super small. For this type of hotel this is a shame.

Way better than you'd expect from a Best Western; this is a real hotel, and a nice one.

The hotel is very nice (despite being branded a Best Western). The staff was great - super helpful and friendly, and the location is pretty amazing (right on the waterfront, less than a block from the ferry, just a few blocks from downtown in one direction, and just a few blocks from the ride to the top of the mountain on the other). While there isn't a lot of parking, we were able to grab a spot right in front of the hotel. The breakfast was tasty and had a bunch of options; not the best we had but a nice one and worth indulging in. We had balconies overlooking the lake and the view was great.

The AC was pretty weak, which wasn't ideal in the middle of a heatwave - even with it on max the rooms were pretty hot. The coffees at the breakfast were from a machine, so not great.

Our deluxe room had a balcony and a great view but was not as big as I had hoped Its a 10 to 15 minute walk to the centre of Lugano As of October 2022 there is building work just started at the plot next to the hotel - but if you have a lake view room this is not noticeable Hotel was noticeably quiet when we were there the lakeside road in front of the hotel is always busy

Beautiful Lake View!

The breakfast was very good and all the dining areas were spacious and pleasant! You are right across from Lake Lugano and a short walk to town. The room was very spacious and we had a beautiful view of the lake!

We had a small balcony that overlooks some construction which wasn’t pretty but they weren’t working during our stay so it was very quiet which was a relief.

Really enjoyable and we were made very welcome by the lovely team.

The staff are exceptionally helpful, attentive and lovely. Rating: Excellent! The breakfast buffet is splendidly rich, fresh and offers a range of delights. The rooms were comfortable and very clean; thanks to the attention to detail of staff. One thing that could do with slight improvement is the bath/shower, which, whilst being functional, was a bit temperamental and not installed in the most convenient way.
