Ramada Plaza Shanghai Pudong Airport

Exceptional hospitality — my third stay and definitely not my last This was my third stay at Ramada Plaza Shanghai Pudong Airport, and once again I was extremely happy with my choice. I arrived at Pudong Airport very early in the morning after an overnight flight and checked in at around 6:30 am. My next flight wasn't until 8:30 pm that evening, so I asked whether it might be possible to extend my check-out beyond noon. The hotel kindly allowed me to stay in my room until 5:00 pm at no additional charge. After a long overnight journey, being able to have a proper rest before another long flight made such a difference. I was also very kindly offered breakfast that morning, which was such a lovely and unexpected gesture of hospitality. A special thank you to Lucy at reception. She was incredibly warm, attentive and helpful, and made me feel genuinely welcome. In fact, this is what I appreciate most about this hotel: every time I stay here, I feel less like just another hotel guest and more like a returning friend. The staff are always willing to help, answer questions and do whatever they can to make the stay comfortable. The location is extremely convenient for Pudong Airport, the rooms are clean and quiet, the beds and pillows are very comfortable, and overall the hotel offers excellent value for money. After three stays, I can confidently say that this has become my hotel of choice whenever I have a long transit through Shanghai Pudong. I will absolutely stay here again. I would really appreciate it if the hotel could provide a complimentary airport shuttle service 24 hours a day. Flights at Pudong Airport operate around the clock, and guests arriving late at night or very early in the morning currently have to take a taxi when the hotel shuttle is not running. Unfortunately, airport taxi drivers can sometimes quote unreasonably high fares, especially for such a short journey. A 24-hour shuttle service would make an already excellent airport hotel even more convenient and comfortable for travellers.

I arrived at the hotel quite early in the morning. I was told by the receptionist that my room was not ready however she said she would kindly upgrade me to a suite so that I d be able to go in and rest. She also gave me a complimentary breakfast. The service during my stay was great.

Easy to reach from the airport with the shuttle, surroundings were more pleasant than expected.

I had to leave very early and the breakfast bag could be improved.

The late opening times for the restaurant/bar were great, i.e. for late arrivals at this airport hotel (except: the restaurant had a huge TV screen but which only played Chinese-language programmes, so zero atmosphere in the restaurant/bar). Disliked · Nobody spoke English. My TV's remote control was only in Chinese. My room's facilities were empty (empty fridge; no coffee/tea, no glasses or cups). My room phone was supposed to allow international calls but it did not (I approached reception, they were unaware of the process but were very helpful, and three people later - after midnight - it worked! The room's opening windows don't close properly, the airport freeway is nearby - interessingly, there were earplugs on my bedside table. This hotel offers a free bus service from the airport to the hotel: I found this near impoosible to locate - basically, it is at an un-signed posted pick-up point, across the road, outside Terminal 1 ... at my late time of arrival, I couldn't see a taxi stand to try that instead.
