I recently had a pleasant experience at the Ramada Plaza Shanghai Pudong Airport Hotel during a long layover. Arriving at Shanghai Pudong Airport very early in the morning, I reached the hotel around 6 am. Although it was unusually early for check-in, the reception staff went above and beyond by accommodating my request for an early room entry. Their willingness to help really set a positive tone for my stay. The concierge was equally impressive in assisting me with arranging a taxi. I needed to get to the city for a tour meetup, and because I was unfamiliar with the area, his guidance was invaluable. It was also worth noting that both the reception and concierge spoke good English, which made navigating the situation smooth and stress-free. The hotel's convenient location near the airport was another plus. I opted for a taxi to the Hotel, a short 5-minute drive because while there might not be a walking path available. When it was time to return, even though it was too early to catch a shuttle on the way out, I appreciated the free shuttle service on the return to the airport. Overall, my stay at the Ramada Plaza Shanghai Pudong Airport Hotel was marked by exceptional service, timely assistance, and a convenient location. I would recommend it for travelers in need of a reliable, airport-adjacent accommodation, especially those dealing with unusual arrival times or transit situations.

City centre is a long way drive from the airport area. It could take at least an hour by car or in my case it took 1hr and 20 minutes due to heavy traffic.

Property was very clean very comfortable beds, restaurant also pretty good , great gym , very close to airport. Staff could not be more helpful especially Shane Zuo on reception who assisted me with onward travel plans

The late opening times for the restaurant/bar were great, i.e. for late arrivals at this airport hotel (except: the restaurant had a huge TV screen but which only played Chinese-language programmes, so zero atmosphere in the restaurant/bar). Disliked · Nobody spoke English. My TV's remote control was only in Chinese. My room's facilities were empty (empty fridge; no coffee/tea, no glasses or cups). My room phone was supposed to allow international calls but it did not (I approached reception, they were unaware of the process but were very helpful, and three people later - after midnight - it worked! The room's opening windows don't close properly, the airport freeway is nearby - interessingly, there were earplugs on my bedside table. This hotel offers a free bus service from the airport to the hotel: I found this near impoosible to locate - basically, it is at an un-signed posted pick-up point, across the road, outside Terminal 1 ... at my late time of arrival, I couldn't see a taxi stand to try that instead. Did I say nobody speaks English, at Shanghai's international airport and international arrivals hall ...
