We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Schatten! Our room was spacious enough, clean and with complete amenities. We loved the view from the balcony! It was so lovely waking up to the mountain views! The sound of the church bell almost like every 30mins was also a music to our ears. They have great breakfast buffet selections with very cozy table set ups. I love everything about this hotel. Communication with staff and team went well, we arrived late but everything went smooth. Walking distance to ludwig str. And to the Garmisch banhof (around 10-15mins away) There are bus stops nearby but we opted walking because the views of the alps are very scenic and relaxing! Would definitely want to stay here again!
8.4 / 10Excellent·Sep 2026
We've recently stayed at the above. This traditional hotel is good with a great location near the centre of Garmidch. The rooms are spacious and clean. Our only concern is we didn't see any staff members apart from the receptionist for our first 2 nights there and it gave us an impersonal feeling.
9.6 / 10Outstanding·May 2026
This is a fantastic hotel. The rooms are clean and well stocked, the staff wonderful and the terrace and views therefrom are awesome. We stayed off season which meant no breakfast or meal offering. That was the only disappointment even though we did have some bakery and coffee delivered which was very nice. This is the only reason for 4 stars on facilities. Beds were a little firm for us personally and a second pillow was required but supplied with a smile when requested. Recommend!
