Superb Ibis hotel!

the room is pretty nice and clean with huge window outside where sun is received daily. The staff was very friendly and speak spanish and english alike. We did not take breakfast as there are many options for petit dejaneur or dinner outside. Neightbourhood is nice.

Basic hotel in Avignon

1. Clean room, comfortable bed 2. Quiet

1. Although located outside the city wall, it's the farthest of the hotels from Avignon town center, a good 10-15 minute walk each way. 2. Water doesn't drain properly in shower or sink 3. Bathroom very small 4. They claim 24 hour reception, but there was only 1 person downstairs, cleaning and serving as the reception person 5. There is another Ibis located next to the Avignon Centre train station. Definitely book that one to be closer to Avignon center.

Next step up from a budget hotel

I think the location is fabulous. The reception staff are really friendly and helpful. Photo is view from the terrace.

The bed was pretty uncomfortable, we booked the private apartment, it has a balcony/terrace. Only 4 plates, no desert bowls or lunch size plates and only 1 drinking glass. The TV is old definitely nothing smart about it and only 2 english news channels if you speak Englsh, so that was hopeless. The bathroom could of been cleaner.

The space between the beds was very small, the bathroom was too small and not thoroughly cleaned, the breakfast was not amazing - I stayed at the Ibis Budget previously and hoped it would be a better breakfast here but there was almost no difference between the two even though one is 2-star and one is 3-star. The staff also didn’t charge us correctly for breakfast at the time of checkin, so we had to pay for extra breakfasts the morning we had to leave when we were in a rush.

the place is cramped, the toilet when you get up you can hit your head, the soap dispenser in the shower is to high for a person 5’ or less. wish the CEO stay at the place for a week & be less than 5’ tall, see how he likes it.

The position of the hotel is fine, just in front of one city entrance. There is a free parking nearby.

Avoid absolutely the purchase of water in the hotel: I paid 5 euros for a bottle of water of 1.5 liters. I was thirsty, but this is still inadmissible.

Memorable for the wrong reasons

Réception, cleanliness, good use of limited space in room, very friendly and helpful staff (especially after incident in car park)

Lack of bedside sockets for chargers etc. Car park with prostitutes vans and detritus of homeless people sets the tone... My car was broken into and things stolen in broad daylight. Not the hotel's fault, but there are no cameras or other deterrents.

Excellent location. It was easy to walk back and forth from and to the city entre.

The room was too hot and the air conditioning didn't seem to work no matter how low you set the temperature. We had to leave the window slightly opened to get some cooler air from outside.

Passable

Good location and free street parking behind the hotel - there was space now but that’s during COVID with tourism being limited by the French health pass but don’t necessarily count on it in the future. The room was clean, small but not tiny and wifi worked well.

No electrical sockets next to the bed, bed too soft and uncomfortable, the toilet wobbles when you sit on it, breakfast passable, crappy hairdryer. It’s essentially a budget hotel so some of these issues could be overlooked if it were cheaper but since it cost almost as much as our amazing 4 star hotel in Paris it can’t. Not too bad for a day or two but don’t make it your first option.
