I chose Meriton because of my previous positive experience. On this occasion, there are negatives that needs to be highlighted about this property. To be fair, the 2-bedroom apartment was well appointed and well equipped with a good location if you do not mind staying in the suburbs of Sydney. However, if you have a car, the number of parking lots are extremely limited. I could not find one among the allocated lots for the hotel on my first night and had to park at the underground lots that belong to the retail outlets. This cost AUD 10 more overnight at AUD50. On the second night, I was lucky to find a lot on the second floor. I also found out that I was charged for 2 nights of parking on arrival when I realised I had paid significantly more than expected. They did refund me when I brought it to their attention. Although I stayed 2 nights, the hotel provided us with just 2 tiny bottles of shower gel for the 3 of us. When I called the next day for more, it took their housekeeping staff 40 minutes to deliver this while I waited to shower. Other less than perfect discoveries were clumps of hair on the floor and carpets. And a cockroach in the bathroom. The reception staff were however friendly and apologetic over the hiccups.
