The location is spectacular, very historic. The grounds are well maintained and it was very enjoyable roaming around. There were not many guests around so very quiet and peaceful.
Bedroom was very comfortable and the bathroom nice and clean with a great shower.
The restaurant was closed, it was a Sunday evening but it advertised being open daily and it was a little disappointing as we were only staying one night.
The room was very warm in the loft and the fan was quite noisy so not a great night sleep.

Very good continental breakfast with wide choice of items. Coffee good too. Opening limited to 7.30am -9.15am. although cooked breakfast can be ordered after this time. Lovely patio seating with glorious views of the estuary.

The grounds, the room decor (Eashon 2; standard double), the shower, the bed, staff friendliness, Netflix access, decent room fan.
Lack of soap in bathroom, lack of any staff in the evening, poor breakfast buffet and pricey a la carte options, restaurant & bar not open on Sunday, zero common rooms/facilities. Top floor rooms stay v warm at night in summer.

The estate itself is absolutely stunning and beautifully maintained. If you’ve got the time, it’s lovely to walk around and explore, and the wildlife is an added bonus. Overall, it’s a beautiful place to stay.
The room itself was lovely, with a comfortable bed and a cosy feel. Unfortunately, the heating and underfloor heating were both on full, making the room unbearably hot. It genuinely felt like sleeping in a hot box, and we barely slept all night. There was no one on reception during the night, so we couldn’t get the issue resolved. We couldn’t even leave the door open to cool the room down because anyone could have accessed it. Such a shame, as it really spoiled what could have been a great stay.
