Jayakarta Hotel Lombok

We really enjoyed our stay here in this big hotel that had a lot of facilities. Our kids enjoyed the gym, the pool (too bad the basketball pole was broken), the tennis court, the grass to play football on (although on some days they used it for other events or hung banners on the goals so they could not be used), the e-steps, etcetera. Rooms were spacious and clean. Beds made every day, rooms cleaned every other day. Fresh towels if you threw them on the floor... Very friendly staff here too. Location is good. The tour we booked via the hotel with Jay was lovely too.

The only thing we did not appreciate was the fact that the hotel had several events going on we were not informed about. One evening there was loud music playing until 10.30, in the morning some kind of aerobics class on the field outside, a gigantic queue at breakfast because there were so many guests, less sunbeds because there had been tables placed around the pool, etcetera. Informing your guests about any inconvenience that could have been caused would be nice.

This place needs a serious upgrade. It opened in the 90s and probably hasn’t been touched since. We had a superior room that was akin to a dungeon! So dark. The corridors are echoey and loud, noisy guests wake you up constantly walking around. The other room was even worse. I felt guilty for our adult kids who had to stay in that room. Both rooms felt and smelt damp but especially the twin room. The pool area was nice and bar ok. It was nice to sit outside the rooms on the patio area. It’s directly on the beach with lovely sunsets. I don’t see how it’s got the ratings it did. It’s cheap to stay, but you know it.
