Dirty room for one week, bad experience with that.

I want to start praising the staff at the reception, all very polite and thoughtful. They did their best to resolve my asks.

Then, all came apart in the room and cleaning staff. We stayed 8 nights, with a baby, and the room was never cleaned, and we asked often to clean it and the cleaning team never actually did, neither the bed that just did it once. I had to ask to remove diapers after days the room with bad smell, I had to ask to make the bed and it was never well done. The baby cot, was done with adult sheets and blanket, is that a joke? Assuming the cleaning is part of price we pay, this was really a bad experience. All the dirty in the floor never vacuumed, can't really tell how bad we felt.

Poorly managed overbooking ruined the stay

The receptionist who tried to offer us some comfort.

They informed us at 12:00 on the day of arrival that our reservation had been transferred to another nearby hotel, the Campanile Hotel. Clearly a case of overbooking handled very poorly. The hotel kept saying that everything had been “resolved,” that they had found a nearby hotel of equal or even higher value, and that we would not have to pay anything extra. In reality, we had secured a below-average rate for those dates (15–17 December) with no prepayment, and it is quite obvious they resold our room. The replacement hotel, on the other hand, had structural and service issues (one evening we couldn’t even get hot water for a shower), which really made it feel like a joke on Ibis’ part. The only positive note was the receptionist, who genuinely tried to help us as much as possible and, out of sympathy, at least allowed us to leave our bags at the reception on check-out day, since the replacement hotel was in a much more isolated area, difficult to reach—especially in the evening. As a result, we ended up spending much more money, having to take Uber back and forth every day. So: think twice, pay everything in advance, and hope they don’t overbook.

Lack of management

Convient, Close by Strasbourg.

The breakfast was terrible. In fact there is no management. At some point we didn't have mugs for coffee, bread, scrambled eggs, cheese, viennoiserie, everything missing at the same time. We had impression that it was the first time they provide breakfast for their clients. It was a completely nightmare. We spent 1h20 minutes to have some food.

Not worth the money - unclean

The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was only two train stops away from the airporr.

The room they gave me had horribly stained mattresses. I asked the staff to change my room, which they quickly did, but no room should have those mattresses in use.

Overbooking no stay.

We arrived to the hotel at 0:05. Receptionist told us that there is no place and no available rooms. But we have paid for 2 rooms via application booking.com. Please refund our money as we did not stay without our fault. We spent the night with 2 children after 12 hours of driving in the car. The receptionist was trying to help us and was trying to find for us replacement rooms in other Ibis hotels but without luck.we would like to get a refund. Joanna

Ruined by hotel refusal to turn on air-conditioning despite 24 degrees. Rooms on road side noisy

Our room overlooked the main road which was very noisy until about 2am. It was 24 degrees outside and had been warm for at least a week but we were told the air-conditioning was still on heating mode and could not be switched over to cooling. The hotel was very obviously trying to save money. The room was far too hot with the window closed. A great shame as otherwise good value for money

A pretty decent hotel for a really good price

The hotel is pretty comfortable and the bus station is really nearby. Unfortunately, you need quite a few time to reach the city center. The room is quite small, but it’s comfortable for two people. We had a problem with the Air Condition and the receptionist changed our room immediately - we really appreciated it.

The hotel is unfortunately a bit obsolete. There aren’t enough plugs in the room, the elevators are pretty dirty and the rooms are not in the perfect condition - a renovation is needed. The bathroom was also small and pretty outdated - however there isn’t any big problem with it. In the receipt we received, it is shown as if we had breakfast in the price we payed - however, this was never communicated clearly.

Worth the money

It is definitely value for money. I liked the bed, very comfortable.

As seen in the pictures, the room is really small. Plus the air-conditioning system is pretty loud.

It's a reasonable place to stay and serves its purpose

The hotel is nothing special, but it served its purpose. Most of the staff were pleasant, efficient and helpful. The room was reasonably clean and it was reasonably quiet.

On arrival - at a little after 8.00 pm, so not late late - there was nobody on reception. Eventually a young girl arrived, who didn't seem to fully understand what she was doing - we waited c. 10 minutes for a receipt and eventually gave up. The room was cold and the heating did not work properly.

It was such a highly disappointing and hurting experience

Apart from the fact that for us it was easy to locate the hotel, nothing is good and true regarding we saw on the internet.

The hotel is a total scam and the worst experience ever for us. First and foremost, we are a couple and visitors from Germany. We arrived at the hotel on Friday, 4.11.2022 at about 10pm. After picking up the security card to the designated room at the hotel reception, we proceeded with the hope of dropping our bags and relaxing in the room. But unfortunately for us on getting there, we discovered that the hotel room was so dirty to the extent that we could see dirts on the bed, and in the bathroom/toilet, the amenities were dusty and dirty plus rusty materials and also much cobweb around the window. We therefore decided to inform the lady (Anastasiie by name) on the duty, she assigned another room but then there was no difference at all; we were so highly disappointed and sad. Later on, a black guy with dreadlock who as well works there came and asked what the problem was. He saw everything himself and told us, they are very sorry. He told us he had to make report regarding our experience and complaints and also assured us they would refund us latest the following day in the morning 5.11.2022. Up till now, we are yet to be refunded. We couldn't stay in the hotel as a result of all this. As a matter of fact, they knew all this already, but they just keep on making people have such experience. The hotel management should profer an immediate solution to this, in order to avert further occurrencies.

I booked 2 rooms and I asked if it's possible to get the rooms next to each other. I got it. The greatest was that into one room was a door to get to the other one so we made a big apartment with our kids 👍👍👍👏👏👏

We booked this hotel because it was during a heatwave and we wanted AC. Turned out the AC was broken in our room. First when we went down to ask the recepcionist if it was normal the AC didn't work he told us it could take two hours before the AC would work. What kind of hotel is this? These are not Ibis standards! We asked to be refunded and left the hotel. The recepcionist kindly reimbursed us.

I highly recommend not to stay here...

The price is the only thing that was ok.

The breakfast was terrible, you only got a choice of croissant, baguette or chocolate roll. There was salami, ham and cheese (1 kind of each). There was no bacon and no decent eggs, you could only cook your own eggs in a kind of water boiler. But unfortunately, this did not work either. There was 1 kind of cornflakes, milk and that was it. Not worth 10.50 euros. Next, none of the staff spoke English. Fortunately, I could speak French fluently but my friends could not communicate with the staff. The rooms were very outdated, unhygienic. There were dirty white spots on the curtains, the beds were dirty, there were dirty green spots on the sheets. In addition, the air conditioning did not work in 2 of the 3 rooms. While it was over 35 degrees during our stay. You could not operate the water properly. It was either ice cold water or boiling hot water. The hot water also ran out very quickly, so that in the end you had to wash yourself with cold water. There were no plug sockets in the places that should normally have one, such as a bedside table. Finally, during check out, they charged too much even though one room had checked out a day earlier. I asked if the bill was correct before I paid, and the receptionist said everything was fine. When I got the bill, it turned out that she had not checked it at all and that we had paid a lot more. I then got back in cash everything that was overpaid. I don't recommend this accommodation, also because it is situated in a sketchy area. All around the hotel there are smashed-up cars, broken tyres,... Untidy neighbourhood. I recommend to stay away from there unfortunately.
