Unfortunately, I wouldn’t stay here again.

I really enjoyed the service and breakfast — plus the location is fantastic.

I booked this room based on the photos online, but after checking in I realized the actual room was in a small yellow building next to the hotel. It was completely different from what was shown in the pictures — there were no floor-to-ceiling windows or sea view as advertised. This feels misleading and somewhat deceptive. Considering the price, the cleanliness was very disappointing. The bedding didn’t feel very clean, there was a lot of dust, and on the first night when I opened the curtains I noticed two handprints on the window. The next day I even found handprints on the front door. I can’t be sure whether they had always been there or not, but it definitely made me uncomfortable. Please pay more attention to hygiene and housekeeping. This was unfortunately the most expensive yet the worst hotel I stayed at during my trip in Northern Europe.

Holiday Stay at Thon

Great overnight stay, in the heart of town and walking distance to everything. The highlight was the incredible breakfast buffet - quite exceptional and caters to all appetites and dietary restrictions. Bonus points for the same of local cured meats.

An excellent experience

The lady at reception was integral in making our stay a positive one. From the first interaction she was pleasant and willing to assist. We wanted to nominate her for employee of the month, but she advised that she was relocating to another hotel.

Great hotel in a lovely situation.

Very smart hotel. Friendly staff on reception. Speedy elevator. Nice room with a lovely partial view. Most comfortable bed on this trip. Excellent breakfast. Made a great base for ex ploring Lofoten.

A few maintenance niggles - cracked window, tap which had become loosened (but which we managed to fix) and unreliable on/off switch on hairdryer.

Great holiday in Lofoten

The location was great with plenty of EasyParking places around. Parking was free from 7pm till 8am following day. Most of restaurants were in close proximity as well. Room at 9th floor had a beautiful sea view. Very attentive reception staff.

The room had one window heavily cracked. It was the only window that was opening so we had to be cautious. The air con was very noisy. Found a bit tricky the way to stop it. The shower door was not very effective to contain splashing.

Great hotel in Svolvaer. Breakfast was fantastic. Some of the staff we interacted with seemed irritated or angry while others were lovely. Overall a mixed bag experience.

I booked for the sea facing with additional charges on booking .com but the hotel allocated me NON sea faces hotel without refunding any money for the difference . will booking . com will compensate to me

Bad experience

We chose this hotel because of its location it is really central. Lobby area has nice design and it was decorated with beautiful flowers.

The receptionist was unprofessional and seemed eager to get rid of us when we asked questions about parking and breakfast. We were also shocked to find scattered food in front of the elevator—cooked eggs and salami that had clearly been there for a while. We had to step over it to get into the elevator, which was gross and unacceptable. For an early check-out, we requested a packed breakfast, but what we received was: one soggy sandwich with dry bread and wilted lettuce, an apple, two yogurts, and a bottle of water, all in a torn paper bag. Considering the price, this was the worst hotel experience we've had so far. We will definitely avoid Thon hotels.

View over the Market Centre and harbour. We arrived the day they held their annual races.

Beautiful, but avoid this ANNEX

Listen, the lobby and public areas are beautiful and the breakfast spectacular, but what they don’t tell you or show in pictures of is a 3 floor, dark, narrow, dated annex with about 30 rooms that is awful (I’ll add some). I booked based on photos and description but got assigned a room in this annex which you enter through a service door like a 2nd class citizen. I would call this deceitful on the park of the hotel. I still paid over $200/night for this traffic room.

This annex. My room, with a view of the building next door had a small window which was broken so I could seal out all the talking outside the bar and side hotel entrance. The shower head was clogged, the hallways dark and narrow like a bad college dorm. I go no sleep and was simply angry all night long

Spacious room with stunning views. (But beware as some rooms look out at a wall) the breakfast was outstanding and there was the option of putting together a packed lunch from the breakfast buffet for a reasonable price. Very helpful staff

An expensive comfortable hotel in great location but bring your own food on a Sunday.

No instruction leaflet in room on how to work the coffee machine. Safe in room did not open as per the start up instruction on its outside. Light switches in room always a puzzle. Restaurant closed on Sunday evening - is there any other hotel of this standard and price which does'nt feed its guests on a Sunday.

Disappointing

Nice location with beautiful view from the room. Staffs(specially in the restaurant) are friendly and have serviced-mind.

We booked the room type "Corner Suite" on Booking.com but when we checked in we got to stay in "Panorama business room" which is cheaper and abit different such as smaller sofa and there's no dining table and it's not what we have expected. The reception said that it's Booking.com's failure that has wrong photos and wrong room type. We don't really care whose failure but we booked the room from the photos we saw and the description we read. And for the Panorama business room that we stayed, for me its not worth for almost 5200 SEK that we have paid. There're just shampoo, body lotion and shower gel for amenities in bathroom. I think they should have a shower cap and cotton buds as well. And Minibar was not included in the room price like it shows on my booking information. Plus the paid parking in their garage for 200 NOK which was very small and not easy to park.

Awesome location and breakfast buffet

The Thon Hotel Svolvaer is perfectly located right on the water in Svolvaer, close to the hurtigruten quay, the city centre, and lovely boardwalk cafes. There is underground parking as well, and despite arriving early, the staff allowed us to park in our stall. The breakfast buffet was outstanding and offered a huge variety of food choices.

It’s right where the passenger ferry embankment is. Breakfast was very good except the coffee machine were broken and the coffee was very weak. Staff during check in were very friendly. They tried to do their best to give us an upgrade to a better room.

The room was on the side of the pub so there was very loud noises from people talking the whole night even though our room was on the 4th floor. My husband couldn’t sleep much at all. The curtains are not preventing the sun light to get in the room. The room had no AC so it was quite warm and was difficult to sleep.

Terrific accomodation - 5 stars all round!

Everything was just fantastic! The staff were super friendly and helpful. The location was in the town centre and right next to the harbour, which I had stunning view of from my room. The food at the restaurant was delicious - the breakfast buffet was so diverse and was pleasantly accompanied by a live performance by a pianist, and the meal options for dinner were cooked to perfection. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Lofoten!

A really minor issue - the underground car park was a bit squishy.
