A lift would have made access to upper floors easier for guest with walking sticks. A handrail on the right hand side of stairs would have made it safer to get to upper floors.

Having stayed here several times previously we will definitely not stay here again.

Location is excellent for being in the city

Mattress and pillows was terrible, the floor squeaks when you walk over it, the bathroom is very dated with mildew evident around the bath, one tap would not work the toilet pan moves when you use it not a good experience. We placed our suit bags on top of the wardrobe when we arrived and when we took them down they were covered with approximately a years worth of dust.

Location and history of the building is amazing. Breakfast was standard but the lady who staffed it was amazing, so funny and kind.

The age of the building is starting to show with the pipes popping and banging during the night. Also the dinner service was very slow and was only 4 people in the restaurant. Waited an hour for our dishes. Also our dessert arrived still frozen when it was meant to be hot apple pie. Manager did refund it.

A fantastic overnight stay

Location was fabulous and it was a dog friendly place that’s why I chose this particular hotel. The staff were all friendly, the exceptional one was Helen who helped us with breakfast. What a fantastic asset you have with Helen! Her professionalism and friendliness was outstanding.

Lovely traditional hotel with a warm welcome

I booked a nights stay as I was attending a show at Perth Concert Hall. Its an ideal location for that ( only a 2 minute walk) and for visiting the centre of Perth. Lovely hotel with an old fashioned charm. Single room had a large double bed ( a nice suprize) and a great shower. Great meal choice for High Tea option in the afternoon/early evening ( highly recommend) and lots of options at the buffet style breakfast . Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Special shout out to the older lady waitress at breakfast , so friendly chatting to everyone and asking about their day. I am currently on crutches and she went out of her way to help carrying my drink to the table , and opening the buffet lids so I could serve myself and then carried plate to table. Much appreciated. Great choice to stay if visiting Perth

No lift so be aware the hotel is on 3 floors , they did offer help with luggage if needed. I was aware of this in advance so not an issue. Everything else perfect

Decor was a little tired but my room was clean and comfortable. High tea was good and very reasonably priced. Water pressure in the shower was very good.

Disappointing. Looked plush on the surface but badly run

The staff were pleasant, the location was central

The car park was tiny and we got stuck so the manager had to reverse the car out for us. We had to ask for towels as there were only enough for 1 person and there were 2 of us staying. We had requested a twin room and were given a double. The breakfast was very poor, hardly anything left and certainly not enough for 2 of us. The bed was uncomfortable. Staff were pleasant but obviously there were management issues

Lovely spacious rooms, good central location. Dog friendly to a certain extent. Restaurant food was lovely.

Parking was a bit of a pain, carpark was full and no where to stop directly outside hotel to drop off people and luggage. £12 for a nearby overnight carpark. Just something to keep in mind. No allocated area in restaurant for dog so set us up outside the restaurant at door which wasnt ideal, we felt as though we were in the way of people entering and leaving the restaurant. Just a few niggles but nothing that would stop me staying here again though!

The staff were so friendly and helpful. Diane at the front desk went above and beyond to make our stay memorable for the whole family. Helen was such a ray of sunshine every morning at the breakfast buffet that was included. The location is fabulous with a view of the River Taye! The bathtub in our room was huge and so great for the kids. The decor and history of the hotel is exceptional. You feel like you’re in a story book from the 1700s (in a good way)!

Parking was a bit of a struggle. They had about 10 spots out back and those were taken some days, so we had to park on the street a couple times and pay. Good thing is that parking on the street was free from 6pm-8am. Our bed was not very comfy, but it was really big!

Lovely hotel

The hotel was lovely, situated on the river and very close to the shopping area, and museums. The staff were very helpful and considerate. The room was very comfortable too. Would highly recommend.

The amount of stairs we had to climb to get to our room was the only downside, we were right at the top of the hotel and when you're not young and fit its not very good. A lift would have been very helpful. The bathroom could be doing with a shelf or something to put your toiletries on. And maybe a bigger car park.

Fantastic staff, great breakfast and location, but beds are so uncomfortable.

The staff and customer service was absolutely brilliant. They were so friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Breakfast was lovely, we really enjoyed it. And the location in Perth is great - you can walk to everything in the city centre and being on the river is lovely.

I'm really sorry, but the bed was terrible and so uncomfortable. You could feel the coils and bars when laying on it and what little sleep I got, I woke up sore from the bed. For the cost of staying at this hotel, I think the beds should be much better quality.

Overall the trip was lovely and the hotel was lovely just one staff member letting it down.

We did really love how central the hotel was to where we needed to go. Hotel was clean and comfortable.

The rooms were very warm with no air con. Only option was to have the curtains open with the windows and get blasted by the morning sun. The staff had been fantastic we were welcomed into the hotel by a lovely girl on reception who I had spoken with on the telephone beforehand and very helpful. However, when we arrived back from our evening meal at a local restaurant we decided to all go for a drink in the bar, there was one girl on the bar and it was dead so hardly rushed off her feet but she had such an attitude I really wasn’t happy and snapping back at us when I had misjudged a drink when she had given me it already her manner was absolutely disgusting. We were a party of 10 and were spending quite a lot of money she should have been thrilled she was busy. Slamming the drinks down at the bar and saying she had no ice without an apology. I expect a lovely hotel like the royal George to have staff to go with it.
