Everything I ordered via room service was unavailable, me and my gf were starving, we weren't told for over an hour our food choices were unavailable.

It served a purpose and was adequate and reasonable value for money .
Convenient for the crematorium
Not good support or any direction from staff when fire alarm set off at midnight on a very cold and damp night . Everyone outside in scanty night wear . It was evidently a smoke problem and false alarm but nobody told us anything and when I asked next day it seemed the hotel was full and over 160 people to just 2 night staff . This is just legal but it doesn’t meet the recommended health and safety advice . Our radiator valve didn’t work properly so was only either full on of completely off

Rooms ok but decor a little tired.
Bar and restaurant service and quality poor. Cold, overpriced food and drinks very overpriced also. Breakfast was cold again and basic items were missing.

Room was clean & tidy although a little tired looking.
Didnt really feel the luxury 4 star hotel experience here. Poor menu selection in the main Winchester restaurant. Menu offered didnt match up with the menu shown online which was disappointing. Online menu today still shows a large choice of food options that isnt available? Choice of 2 bars but only one open on each day of our 2 day stay. Gallery bar stop taking food orders from 5 o clock in the afternoon. Would have been a nice place to eat a light evening meal or snack rather than use the restaurant. Sports bar, on the day it was open couldnt serve anything on draft for some reason - only from the main Gallery bar, which was closed.

The hotel was very clean and welcoming. The gentleman on check in when we arrived was particularly friendly and helpful. Food was nice, and the swimming pool and spa facilities are lovely. I paid extra for a suprise package for my husbands 40th, instructions were followed well and communication was excellent.
The bar staff in the gallery were quite rude and unhelpful. The bar is advertised as a cocktail bar, but when I asked what cocktails they do, I was abruptly told 'No cocktails' and then he just walked off. The bar staff kept disappearing and guests were stood waiting for ages to be served. We also waited for 40 mins for someone to check us into the spa facilities as nobody was there, which spoiled our schedule for the evening. The bed was extremely uncomfortable, advertised as a super king, it was actually two beds pushed together, and I woke up multiple times in the night from rolling into the middle.
